Beyond Meat is known for making some of the best meat that isn’t meat, but they’re branching out with a new product: a drink that also isn’t meat! Okay, maybe “a drink that isn’t meat” should go without saying (unless you’re a tiger with a blender), but Beyond is putting their knowledge of plant-based nutrients to use in the beverage sector. Meet Beyond Immerse, a beverage that combines plant protein, fiber, antioxidants, and electrolytes.
What is Beyond Immerse?
The product became available for a limited time starting in mid-January on Beyond’s direct-to-consumer site, Beyond Test Kitchen. Customers can choose from three flavors: Peach Mango, Lemon Lime, and Orange Tangerine. With between 10g and 20g of protein and around 7g of fiber per serving, the drinks are also a source of Vitamin C, made without GMOs or sugar alcohols.
Where does the portein come from? Vegan meat?
Thankfully, Beyond has a team of professionals adding protein to these drinks in more inventive and less gross ways than our initial thought to include Beyond Meat chunks to a regular drink. It’d be like bubble tea for the meathead gym bro trying to meet their protein, who’s also woke to the fact that cow burps are not great for the environment.
Instead, Beyond uses protein from peas and fiber from tapioca. That’s why those people have that job, and we have this one. At least until we get complaints from readers who now can’t stop thinking about popping the tab of a fizzy drink only to find soggy, floating vegan meat cubes. Bottoms up!
When are these new Beyond drinks available?
Right now! You can buy 12-packs of the drinks with 10g of protein for $29.95 or 12-packs of the drinks with 20g of protein for $34.95. Or, rather, you could buy them if they weren’t sold out as of this writing. Guess people were really clamoring for Beyond beverages!
