The Best Frozen Breakfast Burritos for an Easy Morning Meal

The best frozen breakfast burritos cook quickly and consist of a soft tortilla filled with warm, gooey ingredients. “Warm, gooey ingredients” might seem kind of vague, but as I learned in this taste test, a breakfast burrito can contain almost anything.

That being said, they should all start with the base of a scramble. That scramble can be made of eggs or tofu. Then, there should be at least two other fillings. Those can be meat, veggies, cheese, or beans. Whatever! No matter what you frozen breakfast burrito preferences are, I am convinced that there’s a premade breakfast burrito for you in the freezer section of your grocery store. These are the five best frozen breakfast burritos we found in our in-office taste test.

Best Vegan

Sweet Earth Big Sur Vegan Frozen Breakfast Burrito

If you aren’t vegan, I probably wouldn’t suggest you buy this Sweet Earth frozen breakfast burrito. If you are vegan, though, it’s a nice option. It’s full of stuff, the tortilla is soft, and it’s well seasoned. Fans of tofu will be fans of this burrito. I still think it needs some extra hot sauce, but that’s just a personal preference. It may not be the best frozen breakfast burrito for meateaters, but it’s the best vegan breakfast burrito on the market.

Best Classic

Red’s Frozen Turkey Sausage Egg Breakfast Burrito

Red’s Frozen Turkey Sausage and Egg Breakfast Burrito only contains one meat, but it makes our list of the best frozen breakfast burritos because the sausage is so flavorful. Sometimes poultry versions of pork products can leave you wanting more. But not this turkey sausage! It’s rich and wonderfully greasy and salty. Additionally, there’s plenty of cheese in this burrito, and the eggs are nice and fluffy. I would (and probably will) happily purchase these again.

Best Meaty

Jimmy Dean Meat Lovers Breakfast Burritos

For some people, breakfast is all about the meats. You’re piling your plate high with bacon, sausage, or steak for your first meal of the day. This frozen breakfast burrito from Jimmy Dean encapsulates that. It’s so meat-heavy, without being one note. You still get fluffy eggs and creaminess from the melty cheese. This is the best frozen breakfast burrito for real meat lovers.

Best Spicy

Red’s Frozen Chicken Chorizo Egg Cheese Breakfast Burrito

As someone who doesn’t eat red meat, I am thrilled that there’s a delicious pork- and beef-free breakfast burrito option out there. The chicken chorizo in this is perfectly spiced and super moist. The inside is deliciously gooey. The tortilla is soft. I didn’t even feel compelled to put hot sauce on this premade breakfast burrito—that’s how good it is. I plan to buy more of these and stock my freezer with them ASAP.

Best of the Best

Tina’s Breakfast Burrito, Handcrafted, Egg, Sausage & Cheddar Cheese

Although this isn’t the most structurally sound frozen breakfast burrito we tried (my boss referred to them as a “goop tube”), it was easily our favorite. Gwynedd Stuart, Sporked managing editor, said it reminded her of a cheesier version of the McDonald’s breakfast burrito in the best way possible. The sausage is peppery and a little smokey. It’s super cheesy and soft. These are certified goop tubes and that makes them the best breakfast burritos you can buy.
