Every Single Container of Coke, Ranked

Whenever we post a TikTok about soda, we always get people commenting on the vessel from which we are consuming the soda. I, personally, do not discriminate when it comes to soda containers. While working at Sporked, though, I have learned people are extremely picky about what type of container holds their precious pop.

Obviously fountain is different than canned or bottled, but I didn’t realize how strongly people felt about store bought versions of soda. To test whether people are warranted in their assertions that bottle trumps can or mini can absolutely beats liter bottle, I tried classic Coke in almost every style you can purchase it. I was surprised by the results. I must give credit where credit is due. The internet is right about this one. There is a huge difference!

COKE

Classic Coke in a Glass Bottle

Coke in a glass bottle has almost no carbonation, making it the least satisfying for soda lovers. It’s also typically more expensive and harder to find. I would not buy this.

COKE

2-Liter Bottle of Coke

The first sip of a 2-liter bottle of Coke would actually be number one on this list if we were just taking the first sip into account. Unfortunately, we must judge the full experience. The first sip of a 2-liter Coke is perfection. It is so carbonated. Sadly, it goes flat faster than you can typically drink it so it loses points.

COKE

12-oz Can of Coke

A can of Coke is wonderful, especially when it’s ice cold. It has the potential to be perfect. I love how cold it feels in your hand and the initial burn you get when you take your first sip. Once again, I find that it fizzes out by the last third of the can. A great two-thirds does not a perfect soda vessel make.

COKE

12-oz Bottle of Coke

I’m a 12-oz bottle guy. The plastic bottles are so much more carbonated than any other form of soda. Once again, though, it begins to lose carbonation half of the way through the bottle (unless you’re like, drinking this out of a beer funnel).

7.5-oz Mini Can of Can

The ultimate choice when it comes to soda serving options is the mini can. It stays cold and carbonated just long enough for you to drink it. And, yes, I know it’s less Coke. If you need more, just drink two of these! Drinking two of these will give you the perfect soda-drinking experience if you’re sucking down a store-bought soda.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be enjoying my perfect preparation of Coke: a gigantic plastic cup filled to the halfway mark with pebble ice and topped with Coke from a 7-Eleven fountain.

  • Jordan – How could you disrespect the classic glass bottle of Coke??? It is perfection and you pay for the experience. The aggressive fizz is not the only requirement for a crisp cold coke to be perfect. Honestly slightly offended it was only ranked 5/10 sporks, easily a 9/10. Completely agree with the mini-coke cans, they are the best!
