Dearest gentle reader,
Did you miss me? As esteemed members of the ton fill their social calendars attending watch party soirees for the season three premiere of Bridgerton, this author has been doing but one thing…honing her palette. It is my duty, reader, to sift through tittle-tattle from the gossip mongers and keep you apprised of the highest echelon of news media: food journalism. And a recent import into London (courtesy of the Ottoman Empire) has created quite the stir among the Palace… Some posit it may even rival the popularity of Great Britain’s most beloved drink: a cup of tea. Scandalous, indeed.
Yes, I’m referring to coffee, of course. But not just any coffee, reader. Coffee creamer royalty International Delight released a trio of products sold at retailers nationwide: Bridgerton-themed Berries & Créme Coffee Creamer, English Toffee Coffee Creamer, and Berries & Creme Iced Coffee. Is the new Bridgerton coffee creamer or Bridgerton coffee worthy of the shillings in your coin purse? Let’s discuss…and I’ll drop the Lady Whistledown voice before I overdo it.
So, two of these new Bridgerton coffee products are berries and cream flavored, which raises my eyebrow a bit. How important was this flavor combo to Regency England?? As an ignorant American, I can sort of see the tie-in with English trifles, berry compote, and clotted cream. But I’m curious if International Delight knows something about season three of Bridgerton and #Polin that we don’t? We know the carriage scene is happening. Maybe there’s another narratively significant scene with berries and cream?? Do I sound like a crazy fan with conspiracy theories yet? Great!

The Berries & Créme Bridgerton coffee creamer is light-bodied, fruity, and fit for a garden party. Do I have a garden? No. I live in Los Angeles; I barely have trees. But it’s nice to pretend I’m a wealthy viscountess sipping berry-flavored tea in her lush, vine-covered gazebo.
Pros: International Delight really got the balance of berries, mild sweetness, and (dairy-free) cream just right. I tried this in my coffee, and it made my cup taste refreshing—like yogurt-covered strawberries or a blueberry parfait. I could see this pairing well with a buttered scone.
Cons: Not everyone wants to drink fruit-flavored coffee. In fact, I would say the majority of people don’t want to drink fruit-flavored coffee, and that’s okay! It’s nice to sip, but will you drink a full cup of it? Probably not. (And if you typically avoid coffee smoothies or flavored yogurt, I think you can skip this.)

If you want to surprise your Bridgerton fanatic bestie with a cute gift, I’d reach for the English Toffee Bridgerton coffee creamer. It tastes like Regency England. Please don’t ask me to expand on why. I’m going purely off vibes.
Pros: This Bridgerton coffee creamer tastes buttery, extra churned, and indulgent without being too sweet. It’s so toasty and comforting. *Picks up feathered quill.* Should this exclusive creamer ever make it to your tete-a-tetes or tea parlors, her Majesty ardently urges you to use it in your coffee, should your kitchen maid fail to churn the cow’s milk in time for your guests. *Puts down feathered quill.*
Cons: Does it taste like toffee? On its own, without coffee or tea, yes. You definitely get notes of caramel and sweet chocolate. Mixed in a hot beverage? Not so much. If you served me a cup of coffee with this creamer and asked me to guess the flavor, I wouldn’t have a clue. But it’s still pretty darn tasty!

- International Delight Bridgerton Berries & Creme Iced Coffee
-
We’re back to the berries and cream theme here—this time in a premade iced coffee drink. Though I would argue this tastes more like a fruity milkshake. Which…sorrows, sorrows, prayers.
Pros: Like the creamer, this iced coffee has a mild berry flavor and hint of sweetness that doesn’t overwhelm your taste buds. If you love berries and cream, you will probably enjoy this!
Cons: Iced coffee—especially when you buy it by the carton—should taste first and foremost like coffee. I want to taste the coffee bean, you guys. This Bridgerton iced coffee is much closer to a coffee-infused smoothie or milkshake. Since the flavor itself is a little odd, I find it hard to believe people will finish the whole carton. Also: I wish this coffee was pink! I know that sounds insane, but I would really get behind serving this at a party if it was dyed pink.
