Burger King has been awfully busy lately. They put out a new, revamped Whopper, a new Peppercorn BLT Whopper, a new deep fried apple pie, a new lemonade, and new crispy french fries in Canada. Not to mention, the UK is getting Burger King Pringles. How are we supposed to keep up with all of this, Burger King? It’s like you want us to never forget you exist and visit your restaurant every damn day! Oh. Okay. I see the business strategy now.

And this just in: the “Double Candied Maple Bacon Croissan’wich” has hit the BK breakfast menu.

This Croissan’wich includes: A double portion of candied maple bacon, one fluffy egg, American cheese, and a toasted croissant sliced in half. This is the first savory-sweet entry to their croissan’wich line-up, which so far is mostly a variety of chicken sausage, ham, turkey bacon, fish (yes, fish), and egg options.

This is all part of a bigger “Maple Bacon” situation at BK, btw.

I left out one of the new Whoppers that Burger King added to their menu last month: the Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper. We reviewed it for ourselves and found it to be a little too sweet on the whole—but as a breakfast item, I think the savory-sweetness of the maple could really work. (The “swavory” movement is in full swing.)

So far, audience reception is mixed. The bacon allegedly has a slightly spicy peppery sauce on it that fans seem a little divided on. Kinda sounds good to me, but I guess there’s only one way to find out.

BK fans, will you be trying this?

Howdy! I’m a Sporked writer based in L.A., and you can find me overstaying my welcome at just about any coffee shop with free wifi, no matter the speed. Sadly, I can never move back to my home state, Florida, because even if the seafood is totally unmatched, there aren’t enough Mediterranean or Korean restaurants to keep me sane.
