Burger King serves big burgers. At least, that’s kinda what it wants you to think. The size of its burgers is put front and center in their very names (it’s called a Whopper, for god’s sake!), and while what you actually get might look a little bit different to the menu images it uses, its sandwiches rarely feel teeny. Until now, that is. Burger King has decided that it’s slider season, and it’s testing them out in two key cities, starting next week.

But which cities? And what’s in these sliders? And…why are they doing this? We’ve got all that right here, my good people.
What Are Burger King’s New Sliders?
The fast food chain is debuting its new smaller sandwiches in its King Size Sliders Box, with which customers can grab either two or six sliders. People will have three options to choose from, and they are:
- Deluxe Slider – a simple affair featuring a BK 100% flame-grilled patty on a slider bun, topped with burger aioli, lettuce, tomato, and pickles.
- Steakhouse Slider – this slider starts with the same patty, and is crowned (get it? Burger King? Crowned) with Swiss, bacon, peppercorn sauce and crispy onions.
- Bacon & Cheese Slider – a beef patty topped with bacon, American cheese, and burger aioli. So, basically, all the good stuff.
Where Can I Get Them?
Burger King is testing these sliders, so they’ll only be available in two cities at first: Portland, Oregon, and Columbus, Ohio. As with any other fast food item ever, if this initial test period goes well and there’s enough demand, they’ll likely be rolled out more widely. If it doesn’t, they’ll disappear, never to be seen again. BK’s had sliders a couple of times before (remember Burger Shots?), so it’s not exactly going into this blind, and these new sliders feel slightly elevated.
When Can I Get Them?
For a limited time only, people! Burger King’s sliders will be available from April 14 to May 4, while stocks last.
Why Is Burger King Putting Sliders on the Menu in the First Place?
In a quote to Parade, Burger King stated that these new sliders will give customers “more variety, more flexibility and no tough choices,” and it all falls into the general sprucing up of its menu that’s been going on this year. So far in 2026, it’s revamped its Whopper and introduced a bunch of new menu items (including a maple bacon croissant sandwich and a new watermelon lemonade), and more generally, it feels as though it’s trying to keep up with the Joneses – by which we mean, all the other fast food chains out there. We’ll have to wait and see how these sliders compete with the likes of White Castle, which has itself been putting out new menu items recently, but we’ve got bated breath over here.
