Buying This Popcorn Could Pay For Your Avengers: Doomsday Ticket

If there are two things that belong together, it’s popcorn and movies. (Sorry, peanut butter and jelly. You had a good run.) And Pop Secret is really leaning into that relationship with its latest collab. The popcorn brand is teaming up with Marvel Studios for the release of Avengers: Doomsday, and there’s more in it for Marvel fans than some cool packaging.

Ahead of the movie’s December 18th theatrical release, Pop Secret is rolling out limited-edition Avengers: Doomsday packaging featuring characters and artwork from the film. But the real reason to start inspecting your popcorn bags and boxes at the grocery store is that buying them could actually save you money on a ticket to see the movie.

Save Money At The Movies

Buy three qualifying Pop Secret products in a single transaction and you can claim an $8 Fandango Movie Reward to use toward one admission to Avengers: Doomsday. You’ll need to upload your receipt through the promotion website, then you’ll receive a Fandango promo code.

Participating products include select sizes of Pop Secret Movie Theater Butter and Homestyle Butter microwave popcorn, as well as ready-to-eat Movie Theater Butter and Double Cheddar. So, if you were going to stock up on movie-night popcorn anyway, you may as well let it contribute to the actual movie portion of the evening, too.

The limited-edition products are rolling out at Walmart, Target, Kroger, Publix, Sam’s Club, Albertsons/Safeway, and other retailers that carry Pop Secret. Look out for a QR code on participating packages, which will take you to the promotion page.

There’s Also A Very Marvel Trip To New York

Pop Secret seems to have decided an $8 movie reward wasn’t enough, because the collaboration also comes with a sweepstakes that sounds a little bit like someone tried to fit an entire action movie into a three-night vacation.

One grand-prize winner and a guest will head to New York City, with round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations included. The itinerary features a hop-on-hop-off sightseeing tour, tickets to an aircraft and space museum, admission to a spy museum, an escape-room challenge, an immersive skyscraper observation experience, and a special dinner. You know, a nice relaxing weekend.

Another 50 winners will score two $15 Fandango promo codes to see Avengers: Doomsday, plus a Pop Secret prize pack and exclusive merchandise.

You don’t need to purchase anything to enter the sweepstakes, which is open to eligible U.S. and D.C. residents 18 and older (excluding Puerto Rico) through December 31st. The $8 Fandango offer, meanwhile, requires three Pop Secret products purchased in one transaction and is available for a limited time while supplies last.
