Campbell’s Has Finally Officially Released Its New Sauce Line: Here’s What We Know

We love it when everything comes full circle. I first wrote about Campbell’s new line of sauces six months ago, when they apparently were just a few months away from going live and, I’m sure, undergoing a pretty rigorous final push in advance of their release. That release, though, was originally slated for June – and when June came, we didn’t hear any official word from the brand. Its sauces dropped, quietly, at retailers, and they’ve been trucking along ever since, garnering reviews and fans along the way.

Now, though, Campbell’s is officially announcing its sauces – and in honor of that fact, we thought we’d circle back a little, looking at what we knew then, what we’ve learned since, and what it’s saying now. Here’s what you should know about them. 

Campbell’s Sauces

Campbell’s Sauces were officially announced yesterday, and as we discussed back in March, they’re available in four flavors: Creamy Lemon Garlic, Smothered Chicken, Butter Chicken, and Thai Curry. The idea, says Campbell’s, is that they’re a one-stop flavor shop, and that you can use them in lieu of your regular seasonings. 

Campbell’s Sauces are, as you might expect, canned, and they’re available at retailers nationwide. They have a suggested retail price of $2.79, although you can find them a little cheaper than that at some places. 

But They’ve Been Out For A While? 

Yep – since June, as was originally stated. This soft-launch perhaps gave Campbell’s time to refine the sauces or just see what the general feel of them was before it went in with a press release. Nonetheless, the three months between quiet release and announcement have given us a good sense of whether these sauces are any good – and according to customers, they are. So far, Campbell’s Sauces have been very well-reviewed, with people praising them for their solid flavor profiles and versatility. While they’re all popular, its Smothered Chicken has so far gotten the best reviews: People love how well the Creole seasonings used in it shine through

So How Do I Use Them?

As you would with any other sauce. Campbell’s states that it’s as easy as cooking your favorite protein and combining it with your can of choice – but you can also pour the sauces over mashed potatoes, rice, pasta, vegetables, whatever you want. Hey, these sauces are likely going to be around for a while, so take your time. Try out some different combos. See what works for you.
