Chopotle really likes its niche buy one, get one free offers. Where other fast food and fast-casual companies simply require you to show their app or spend a specific amount to get free stuff, the nation’s most prominent purveyor of burrito bowls likes to duck and dive a little, engaging its core audience in slightly different ways. Earlier this month, it ran a BOGO deal that required you to have a tattoo to avail of it. Now, it’s running one for everyone who has a hockey jersey.

But wait – what? Just any old hockey jersey? And what do you actually get for it? Don’t worry! We’ll tell you what you need to know, right here.
So…What Do I Actually Have To Do For This BOGO Deal? And What Do I Get?
According to the breakdown of this deal detailed by @thefreebieguy over on Instagram, you literally just have to turn up at Chipotle in your favorite hockey jersey. Any one will suffice. If you do, you’ll get a buy one, get one free deal on any entrées – although your free option has to be of equal or less value.
When Can I Get It?
Naturally, Chipotle isn’t just running this deal in perpetuity, and you can only avail of it on April 20. Which, let’s be honest, is a date rife with symbolism and probably a great day for certain people to have a big old pile of food in front of them. For, y’know, reasons. Chipotle will only start giving out BOGO entrées after 3 p.m., though, so don’t go down too early.
Are There Any Limits?
Oh, you bet there are limits. The number of free entrées you can get is actually quite high, but nonetheless, you can only score up to 5 of them per order. This deal is also dine-in only, and you can’t get it through online orders: You have to physically go down to your store and wait in line.
And How Do You Think This Deal Will Pan Out?
Well, we should probably discuss that whole line business. Chipotle has run this offer before, and last year, it didn’t quite go the way that a lot of customers expected. “They need to stop,” said a comment on @thefreebieguy’s video. “The last one was terrible, long lines, people not getting their food after standing in line for hours. SMH.” People had a similar issue with the tattoo deal last year, too, so while this offer sounds good in theory, in practice, it might be a bit more stressful than it seems.
That said, Chipotle needs to do something to keep its customers feeling as though they’re getting some value at its restaurant. The last few months have seen its fans getting pretty angry about its price hikes and battling low sales (which it responded to with a happy hour). Don’t burn more goodwill with this one, guys.
