Chipotle really, really wants you to know that it does things a little differently. The bowl ‘n burrito chain stands alone in a sea of fast food restaurants that are dropping their prices and introducing vast value menus, and instead refuses to budge on its now-expensive food (which fans are pretty furious about). Amidst a sea of negative press, though, it’s been trying to find ways to give its diners some deals without going all-out on a price slash. Just last month, we announced that it was bringing in a happy hour, and now? It’s introducing…tatty hour.

Okay, that’s probably not the name that Chipotle’s gonna run with for this one, but we think it’d work. The chain has just announced a slightly odd buy one, get one free deal, and all you have to do is show your tattoos off. Here’s what we know.

One Hour, One Day, One Tattoo

According to @snackolator, Chipotle’s tattoo-ified BOGO deal is a very short affair. It’s running next Friday March 13 (spoooooky), for just one hour – you have between 3 to 4 p.m. to avail of it. However, within that hour, if you head to your local Chipotle and show them that you have a tattoo (with the idea being that it matches the vibe of its wrappers), your order turns into a buy one, get one free affair. Oh, and you can get up to five free items with it. Not bad, right?

You can’t get this with kids’ meals, but it applies to pretty much any other menu item, your burrito bowls and such, so go forth. Plus, this doesn’t have to be a permanent tattoo. It can be one of those transfer ones that your kiddos love to put on you the night before an important day at work, or you can simply take out a pen and draw one on yourself.

A Time-Stressed Deal

Now, we love a BOGO deal as much as the next person, but it’s fair to say that the time window to grab this one is short. Like, really short. And we’re not the only ones that think so. For one hour? 😂 so what if you’re waiting in long line and it exceeds that,” said a commenter on snackolator’s post, making a very astute point. Another person also pointed out that when Chipotle ran this deal last year, the line was so long that they didn’t even bother with waiting for it. Which we guess is good for Chipotle and all, given that this deal clearly drives a lot of business, but less good for…the people paying for its food.

So, if you’re gonna go for this deal, make sure you get down there early – but not too early. And if you don’t have any tattoos, don’t forget your marker.
