Coca-Cola Lime Is Back (But There’s a Catch)

If you’re a Coca-Cola lover, chances are you remember the moment that some genius—maybe a friend or a bartender—suggested you squeeze a little lime in your cup of ice cold cola. Or maybe you’re one of the lucky ones, grandfathered into this tradition by generations of add-a-slice-of-lime-to-that type geniuses. Either way, the Coca-Cola gods have heard your prayers—again!

After 18 years of making us rely on our own lime supply, the soda titan has brought back the beloved Coca-Cola Lime flavour to shelves in both the Original Taste and Zero Sugar varieties. And yes, that’s flavour with a ‘u,’ because unfortunately for those of us out of Tesco’s reach, the reborn Coca-Cola Lime is currently only available in the United Kingdom.

In a press release, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners described the bev, which had a previous life on the shelves from ’05 to ’07, as having “real taste with a zing of zesty lime” and announced that it would be made available in 330ml, 500ml, 1.75L, and 8-pack formats.

For now, us Americans will have to continue stocking our kitchens with giant bowls of fresh limes a lá Dakota Johnson in order to taste that sweet (sour) zing in your coke. However, Coca-Cola Lime is rumored to be crossing the pond stateside sometime around April. So, Tesco warriors, this is your moment, enjoy it while it lasts (and send some our way while we wait).
