Creamsicle Is Bringing Back a Nostalgic Candy in New Flavors

Creamsicle is having its moment. This brand might be the little brother to Popsicle, but the combination of orange and cream very much seems to be of the moment right now. Creamsicle flavors are everywhere, whether it’s in Breyers new ice cream flavors, new sodas from Zevia, or, slightly more unofficially and adjacent-ly, in the new lineup of drinks from McDonald’s. People can’t get enough.

And Creamsicle seems to be very aware of that. We’ve just learned that it’s bringing back a fresh version of a former candy that championed that mixture of orange and creaminess, and two brand-new flavors are arriving in tow with it. Let’s discuss.

Creamsicle Candy Twists

As revealed by @snackolator, Creamsicle has begun teasing its Creamsicle Candy Twists, ahead of the products’ full reveal at the upcoming Sweets & Snacks Expo. This new candy is reminiscent of a Twizzler Pull ‘N’ Peel, but each flavor will have a creamy center, surrounded by a fruity candy. 

As for which fruits it’s going for, it’s probably no surprise that Creamsicle has an Oranges ‘N Cream flavor, but it’s also got a Strawberries ‘N Cream and Blue Raspberries ‘N Cream flavor, too. Creamsicle is also promising that this product will contain no artificial flavors or colors (although one person in @snackolator’s comment section did point out that blue raspberry doesn’t exist in the wild, so the concept of Creamsicle getting to it without any artificial help is somewhat surprising – but hey, we don’t know how these candy maker do things. We just eat the stuff). 

Stop Me If You Think That You’ve Heard This One Before…

“But wait,” we hear you cry, “this feels very familiar.” And it does! Because Creamsicle previously had sold this candy in just the Oranges ‘N Cream flavor. According to a Reddit post, its Creamsicle Candy Twists were first available in the late 1990s/early 2000s, and they were a smash – and way better than the Creamsicle-flavored version that Twizzlers put out. Clearly, someone over at Creamsicle has taken the temperature in the air and realized that oranges and cream are back in vogue, and it’s moving before someone else gets there. 

To be honest, we respect the hustle – and everyone else does, too. If @snackolator’s comments are anything to go by, people are very ready for this candy. When will it be out? We couldn’t possibly say. Where will it be available? Sorry, we can’t tell ya. Trust us, we would if we could! But given that the Sweets & Snack Expo is just a few weeks away now, it won’t be long until we have more news on this one. Until then, we’ll be keeping an eye out.
