The master of cookie FOMO with their weekly rotating menus, Crumbl, is celebrating Dad this week with a whole slate of Father’s Day-inspired Cookies on their always rotating menu. Some of the highlights include a Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake (yes, the Dubai Chocolate trend is not going anywhere anytime soon), a grilling-inspired Cookies and Cream “Grill-It” cookie, and an “Everything But The Dad Jokes” Cookie.

Today, we’re taking look at a cookie inspired by a refreshing, summertime treat that is loved many dads (and plenty of other people, too): Root Beer Floats! Introducing the “Root Beer Float Cookie,” as Crumbl describes, “a marbled vanilla bean and root beer cookie topped with a swirl of creamy vanilla bean and root beer mousse.” Gosh, that sounds quite promising―and very nostalgic!

As with the rest of the Father’s Day menu, the Root Beer Float Cookie will be available through this Saturday, June 20th. Crumbl was kind enough to send us the lineup of the Father’s Day cookies and today we’re trying out the Root Beer Float Cookie. Is the float-inspired treat worth picking up for yourself? Let’s find out!

Root Beer Float Cookie

Pros: I mentioned this for the Cookies & Cream Grill-It cookie and I’ve got to mention it here again, the presentation is absolutely stunning. And taste-wise? If I’m being honest I was a little bit nervous going into this that the vibes of a Root Beer Float could not be properly recreated in cookie form. Folks, I am happy to report that I literally could not be more wrong.

Both the cookie itself and the mousse incapsulate the vibes of a Root Beer Float perfectly―the mousse almost serving to act as the layer of foam at the top of your float. I was not reserved with this one―I ate the entire cookie in one sitting and I’d probably get it again. In fact, I may go place another order right now…
Cons: While the mousse is absolutely delicious and adds a lot to the cookie―it is THICK. We’re talking a solid inch of mousse on top of the cookie. I had a few bites that just felt like a lot. Did it deter me from eating the entire thing? Absolutely not. Did it throw me off for a second? Yes it did.
Verdict: The nostalgia is real with this one. Anyone who grew up on a classic Root Beer Float and has a sweet tooth is going to want to pull up to Crumbl for this before it’s gone.
