Since Nabisco first launched them in 1912 as a knock-off of Hydrox, Oreos have become one of the most popular cookies in the world. And while the classic version, with two chocolate wafers surrounding an infinitely better creme filling, is still going strong, Nabisco has also offered a ton of alternate flavors, including Double Stuf Oreos (with more filling), Golden Oreos (with vanilla wafers) and Oreo Thins (with less everything). But those are just the biggest variations, and the company has also offered a wide range of other flavors, many of which were only available for a limited time.

So, we put together a list of the long-lost discontinued Oreos that we wish we were dunking (and devouring) right now. And if you’re curious about those flavors you can still find in stores, check out our ranking of all the Oreo flavors. Happy dunking!

Strawberry Milkshake Oreos

First released in 2007, these limited-edition Oreos paired chocolate wafers with a pink, strawberry-cream-flavored filling. This wouldn’t be Oreo’s only time flirting with strawberry flavor, as they would release a Berry Burst Ice Cream Oreo in 2013 (which online reviewers said tasted very similar to the by-then-discontinued Strawberry Milkshake cookies), along with Strawberries N’ Creme Oreos, which featured Golden Oreo wafers and a mix of strawberry and vanilla creme filling. But personally, I just want to try that first version for a mix of strawberry and chocolate goodness.

Oreo DQ Blizzard Creme

Released in 2010 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Dairy Queen’s Blizzard frozen treat, these Oreos featured an extra thick filling meant to remind you of a DQ Blizzard. The creme even had bits of Oreo wafers in it, to give it a kind of “cookies and cream” consistency. Reviewers at the time said it was even sweeter than the regular creme filling, which is pretty impressive.

And who wouldn’t want to eat an Oreo stuffed with extra filling that’s also stuffed with Oreo bits? It’s the turducken of cookies.

Blackout Cake Oreos

Released in 2023, this limited-edition cookie featured chocolate wafers and a rich, chocolate-cake flavored creme filling, designed to mimic the taste of chocolate pudding-flavored blackout cake. And while that might sound like too much chocolate for one cookie, I think we can all agree there’s no such thing as “too much chocolate.”

Neapolitan Oreos

As you might guess from the name, these Oreos were stuffed with three different types of filling: vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. They’ve actually gone through several different releases of these, starting with 2012’s Triple Double Neapolitan Oreos, which featured Golden Oreo wafers. They returned in 2022 as just Neapolitan Oreos, this time with a mildly cinnamon-flavored waffle-cone-style cookie. But whichever version you’re thinking about, how could you resist any blend of those three classic ice cream flavors? (And frankly, that cinnamon waffle cone cookie sounds amazing on its own.)

Limeade Oreos

These 2014 limited edition cookies paired Golden Oreo wafers with a sweetened lime flavored creme. As a huge limeade fan, I’d love to give this a try, especially since I’m also a fan of citrus and cream combinations like lemon cream or the classic creamsicle.

Cinnamon Bun Oreos

Hitting the U.S. in 2016, these Oreos were made with cinnamon-flavored wafers and a creamier filling reminiscent of cinnamon bun frosting. Of all the discontinued Oreo flavors on the list, this is the one you have the best shot at getting today, as they’re still available in Canada and Australia. So, if you don’t mind importing some from up north or down under, you can still fulfill your cinnamon sweet Oreo dreams.
