For a while there, we had a pretty good wave of collabs for Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters. McDonald’s even released two meals and collectible cards (and a tasty Derpy McFlurry). Well, it seems the KPop Demon Hunters collabs aren’t done just yet. Sure, it’s been a year since the film released, but it’s definitely still got a hold on the public (I just bought and put together the Derpy Lego set, so like, this announcement may be a little targeted to me and children).

Everything About The Collab

Netflix is now partnering up with Eggo to release a special waffle inspired by KPop Demon Hunters. Well, more accurately, it’s inspired by a highly popular Korean street food―and KPop Demon Hunters is all about celebrating Korea and Korean culture. It’s refreshing to see a brand embracing flavors of other cultures like this. Oreo is known for doing regional flavors too, I just wish they released them here in the states. I’d kill for a sakura Oreo in my local supermarket.

Speaking of Oreo though, if you’ve had the BTS Oreos, then you have an idea what the Eggo collab will taste like because both treats are inspired by Hotteok (ho-tuck). Hotteok is a very popular Korean street food (it’s my favorite and when I went to South Korea, I ate so many). It’s a pancake that’s filled and griddled to create a crispy exterior, fluffy pancake, and a gooey, warm filling. Most traditionally, they are filled with a cinnamon brown sugar mixture. But you can get red bean paste or even savory fillings for hotteok. For the waffles, Eggo stuck with tradition with cinnamon brown sugar.

Where To Find Them

This waffle will be a Golden Brown Sugar Cinnamon waffle and is inspired not just by hotteok, but by the song “Golden.” These limited-edition waffles feature a vibrant, extra-golden hue crafted from natural sources. These waffles sound like a delightful start to any morning.

They are available nationwide already so you can head out and pick up your box of KPop Demon Hunters Eggos anywhere you can find Eggos. I’m certainly excited for this drop. If they’re good, I’m really going to need them to be year round. I can’t get hotteok locally and the closest Hmart is two hours away―a hotteok approximation would be great. Waffles and pancakes are just about the same thing, right? Regardless, fans of KPop Demon Hunters are sure to snap these up.

Hi, I'm Ashley! Food and writing have both been passions of mine for a very long time. Starting to write about food just made sense as the next step. When I'm not writing about food, I can be found cooking up new creations, watching cooking shows (GBBO has me in a hold right now), and shopping for new and interesting foods to try. When I'm not writing and too full to think about food, I play games and hang out with my dogs.
