For a brand that makes a product that is quite literally destined to be covered in syrup, Eggo has…not been that big on making syrup. It’s had syrup products in the distant past (by which we mean back in the mid-20th century), but in recent times, it’s been more focused on cranking out things that feel more intended to be kept further away from its waffles. We’re talking Eggo Coffee, Eggo Waffle Milk, and Eggo Ice Cream…but Eggo Syrup? It’s remained out of our reach.

Until now, people, until now. Eggo’s hitting your shelves with its new line of syrups, and you’ve got five flavors to choose from. It’s an Easter miracle. Here’s what we know.
New Eggo Syrups
According to the ever-reliable snack god that is @markie_devo over on Instagram, Eggo Syrup will be launching in five different options, in collaboration with syrup supremo Golding. Said options are:
- Original
- Buttery
- Blueberry
- Sweet & Spicy
- Cinnamon
The first three flavors feel pretty self-explanatory to us: Original will likely be in your standard pancake syrup style, Buttery will presumably have a dairy twist to it, and Blueberry will, well, taste a bit like blueberries. It’s the last two that have really piqued our interest, though: Is Sweet & Spicy going to be reaching for a hot honey flavor? Is Cinnamon going to get its balance right, or is the spice factor going to be overwhelming (or, maybe even more frustratingly, not there whatsoever)?
We don’t know yet, guys; Eggo and Golding haven’t launched them yet, and we’re not quite sure when they’re going to hit stores, although it looks to be pretty soon. What we do know is that they’re going to be made without high-fructose corn syrup, and that some of the flavors won’t have artificial colors or flavorings. Which means that some of them will, which we’re not that jazzed about. But we digress.
Let’s Go, Eggo
It can always be a bit of a minefield in the comment section when a food manufacturer puts out a new product, but if @markie_devo’s comments are anything to go by, people seem to be pretty warm to the idea of these new syrups. That said, there were a few choice feedback points folks thought worth sharing with Eggo. “Ngl the bottles kind of look like dish soap,” said @snackwire, a fellow prominent Instagram snack account, with a picture of a laughing emoji. Snackwire’s not wrong, to be honest. Another person said that Eggo “missed the opportunity for strawberry.” Give ‘em time, folks, it might be coming!
For now, though, you’ll have five options to choose from for your Eggo protein waffles. Which one are you trying first? Are you trying any of them at all? Does the idea of a cinnamon syrup disgust you? Let us know.
