GHOST’s Next Sour Energy Drink Is Based On This Hershey Candy

If you haven’t been able to get enough of GHOST’s sour flavors, then you’re going to want to snap up its next brand-new option. That’s because the popular energy drink is introducing one inspired by a candy that’ll make your mouth pucker.

A New GHOST Sour Strips Flavor Is Coming

According to online chatter, GHOST is about to launch a new flavor in 2027 that’s directly inspired by a Hershey candy: Sour Strips. The new flavor, called GHOST Sour Strips Appleberry Energy, will take the flavor of Sour Strips Appleberry candy that you already know and love and turn it into a sweet sip with a bit of a sour bite.

Sour Strips AppleBerry features tart green apple paired with sweet berry and it’s one of the candy brand’s staples. We expect GHOST’s liquid take on the flavor to be a close match. 

Sour Strips AppleBerry Energy will be the second Sour Strips flavor created by GHOST. The first, Sour Strips Rainbow Energy, proved so popular that its original limited-time release turned into multiple limited-time offerings over the last few years—and every time it hit store shelves, it was hard to grab a can. The Sour Strips collab is considered one of GHOST’s best flavors, so it’s no surprise a second is likely to be equally in-demand.

The flavor, when released, is expected to be sold wherever GHOST Energy drinks are available (which means there might even be some potential for it to appear in mixed-flavor multi-packs at Sam’s Club and Costco warehouse stores). You can expect Sour Strips AppleBerry Energy to be sold in 16-ounce cans like its predecessors, too.

When Will GHOST Sour Strips AppleBerry Energy Be Released?

Based on online chatter, it’s expected that the new GHOST Sour Strips AppleBerry Energy drink will be available in spring 2027. However, we don’t have an exact launch date just yet.

The latest GHOST x Sour Strips collab is part of the rumored spring 2027 GHOST lineup, so it’ll be a few more months before we get an official date. And, since spring can span from March 1st to mid-June, it could be any time within that timeframe that the new flavor hits store shelves.

In the meantime, while we wait for our next sip of a Sour Strips-inspired energy drink, we’re already dreaming up more ideas for GHOST beverages inspired by other candies. 

After all, since Sour Strips is part of the Hershey’s family, there’s so much potential. We’ve already gotten a chocolatey Yoo-Hoo flavor—could a chocolate and peanut butter combo inspired by Reese’s be down the line? Or maybe a sweet spin like a Jolly Rancher energy drink? With the excitement over Sour Strips, anything just might be possible in the future.
