We’re no strangers to Graeter’s ice cream. They just announced their fall flavors and we’ve ranked their ice cream before. It’s dang good ice cream. If you haven’t had it, it’s definitely worth a try. Well, Graeter’s wasn’t content with just their fall ice cream. Now they’ve got a collaboration. And it’s not the collab you’ll be expecting.

A Freezer In Your Car?
Graeter’s is partnering with none other than… Toyota. Yeah, the car company. We were confused at first, too. But it makes sense when you learn more. This collab is to feature Toyota Sienna’s Platinum upgrade: the FridgeBox. This turns a portion of your center console into a cooler/freezer. It offers cooling mode and freeze mode that is cold enough to keep ice cream and popsicles frozen.
It makes sense for Toyota to look to an ice cream maker to show just how well the upgrade works and why it’s worth it. I won’t lie, it would be kinda cool to just have ice cream on hand in the car when it’s hot. (I’m not going to think about the logistics of the cooler working when the car is off though.)
A New Flavor
So, what did Graeter’s do for their part of this unexpected collab? Made a fun new treat that has on-the-go in mind. They created Salted Caramel Chip Wheels. This is a twist on their regular Chip Wheelies. This treat is Graeter’s rich salted caramel ice cream sandwiched between two made-from-scratch double chocolate chip cookies and rolled in chocolate jimmies. These wheels are only available for a limited time and are exclusive through their website. The regular Chip Wheelies come as standard chocolate chip cookies sandwiching a selection of Graeter’s great ice creams.
Owen Peacock, marketing general manager of Toyota says, “Graeter’s brings that same level of care and craftsmanship to its ice cream that Toyota brings to its vehicles, making this collaboration a natural fit. The Sienna’s available FridgeBox adds a fun, unexpected way for families to bring a little more enjoyment to the journey―keeping a Graeter’s Chip Wheel frozen and ready for wherever the road takes them.”
We’re Here For It
Well, we can’t deny that when it’s stated like that, the collab makes sense. And I’m very much into a double chocolate cookie, so I may need to buy a chest freezer just to stock up on these Chip Wheelies before they go away. Maybe I’ll start a petition to make them a standard offering? They are my favorite flavor combo, so I was in no matter how strange the collab seemed at first.
