While you were probably introduced to Fresca in its original, tangy grapefruit soda form, the brand has since expanded to include a range of different flavors, including Black Cherry Citrus, Peach Citrus, and Blackberry Citrus. But back in 2022, they grew the line into the canned cocktail space with Fresca Mixed: a canned vodka spritz available in Grapefruit Citrus, Pineapple Citrus, Mango Citrus, and Berry Citrus.

Well, now they’re expanding the line again to include a new, boozy collection of flavored malt beverages. Yes, it continues their focus on citrus flavors, as you might have guessed from how many times I’ve written the world “citrus” in this article.
How is Fresca Hard different from Fresca Mixed?
Fresca Hard is a new line of flavored malt beverages that boasts only 99 calories, zero sugar, and 4.6 percent alcohol in each 12oz can. As you might imagine, they’re targeting towards people looking for a low-calorie canned cocktail, just like their earlier Fresca Mixed line.
But what’s the difference between Fresca Mixed and Fresca Hard? Fresca Mix is, as I mentioned earlier, a canned vodka drink. Fresca Hard, on the other hand, is a malt beverage. Malt beverages are made with alcohol made from a malted grain base. Often, that malt alcohol is processed to remove the color and flavor. That way, you don’t end up tasting any actual alcohol flavor in the canned drink. Canned vodka drinks, conversely, are made with vodka and typically have a boozier profile.
Fresca Mixed are also slightly more alcoholic with a 5% ABV, and have 100 calories, rather than 99.
What are the flavors of Fresca Hard?
It’s available in a 12-pack variety format featuring four flavors: Original Grapefruit Citrus, Watermelon Citrus, Pineapple Citrus, and Peach Citrus at a suggested retail price of $17.99. So, which citrus flavor would you want to try first?
