Of All the New Cheez-It Flavors, This Might Be the Weirdest

Cheez-It’s innovation department has been popping off lately. In the last year alone, they’ve released Smoked Gouda and Smoked Cheddar Cheez-Its, Cheez-It Crunch, Cheez-It frozen pizzas, Cheesy Taco Cheez-Its, Wendy’s Baconator Cheez-Its, a Cheez-It gingerbread house, and probably more that I’m forgetting (a girl can only keep track of so many Cheez-Its in her brain before she too becomes Cheez-Its Snap’d). But none of that matters anymore because they just announced yet another cheesy innovation that is hitting stores right the heck now. That’s right, they’re sweet, they’re spicy—they’re Hot Honey Cheez-Its, and they are here for a good time and a spicy time, but not a long time, so let’s talk about them.

How spicy are we talking here? Will a sweet new Cheez-It actually be good? Will these be the cheesy snack that fixes 2025 and resets the timeline?

The truth is, these things are just starting to roll out now, and we don’t yet have a good read on just how spicy or not spicy they will actually be. That said, the folks over at Cheez-It describe them as “loaded with a burst of cheesy flavor and a spicy zing of sweet heat,” so that sounds pretty promising. Let it be known that we, here at Sporked, love a “spicy zing”…or really zings of any kind. Plus, when Cheez-It has released other “hot” items in the past, Sporked taste testers thought the heat was pleasant but not insignificant—the kind of heat that tastes like it was “made in a kitchen, not a lab,” as Jordan Myrick once put it. So we have high hopes that these new Cheez-Its will be about as spicy as…well…a Cheez-It dipped in hot honey.

All that said…we are DANGEROUSLY close to reaching hot honey critical mass. So many brands have released hot honey-infused foods lately—and not many of them have been outstanding. But we’ll reserve judgement until we try them, okay?

How can I get my hands on this new Cheez-It flavor?

These bad boys are already being spotted in stores, so if you see them and want to try them, grab them now since they are limited edition and we don’t know how long they’re going to stick around.

Plus, some bonus news for you gluten-free folks: Cheez-it just announced this week that in 2026 (date and month still a mystery), they are releasing gluten-free Cheez-its. So get hyped and get ready for another calendar year full of more crazy, quadrilateral cheese crackers.
