When Sean Evans and Chris Schonberger created “Hot Ones,” they must have had a sense that it could one day lead to the brand taking residence in grocery stores – but surely they didn’t anticipate just how big it would get. Hot Ones products are now everywhere, with the YouTube-show-turned-cultural-phenomenon collaborating with everyone from Ragu, to A-Sha Noodles, to Hot Pockets, to Pringles in its quest for spicy, culinary dominance.

Now, though, Hot Ones is making a move we didn’t quite expect: It’s dipping into the BBQ world. Hot Ones BBQ Sauce is arriving in just a couple of days (April 9, to be exact), and we’ve got four flavors to get our hands on. Here’s what’s on offer.
Hot Ones BBQ Sauce
Hot Ones BBQ Sauce will be leaning more into versatility and meat pairings than it will fierce heat, but it doesn’t mean that it’s got rid of its spice levels entirely. All four of the new flavors come with a medium heat level, but they also profile different tastes that make them individually suited to specific uses and combos. The flavors are:
Original Hot
Hot Ones describes its Original flavor as “bold, tangy, craveable,” and suggests that it should be used with ribs, pulled pork, or mac and cheese. We can expect this one to be a fairly down-the-line BBQ sauce, albeit with a lil’ punch to it.
Smoky Serrano
The grassy notes of serrano chilies will work their way through this sauce, which is recommended for everything from veggies to grilled chicken to burgers.
Hot Honey
Hot Ones wasn’t gonna miss the hot honey train before it left the station, was it? Its Hot Honey flavor is going to be sweet, spicy, and sprightly, and will be especially good with chicken.
Caribbean
This BBQ sauce will be infused with the sharper notes of scotch bonnet peppers and ginger, and we expect it to be floral and punchy. It’ll work well with fish, but Hot Ones also suggests it for French fries.
Where Can I Get Them? And How Can I Use Them?
As per @cpgwire, this new line of sauces is set to drop in a few major retailers, with Walmart, Kroger, and H-E-B set to get their hands on them, along with Jewel-Osco. You should also be able to find them in the likes of Harris Teeter and Whole Foods.
As for how you can use them: Basically, exactly how you’d use any other BBQ sauce. Hot Ones recommends that you wield its BBQ sauces as a glaze, as a dip, as a drizzle, or as a topping for burgers, sandwiches, or pizza. The world is your oyster, as long as you like your world to have a little bit of spice and some heady flavors. If we get our hands on them to try, we’ll let you know.
