Have you ever tried in vain to turn your home into an international house of pancakes? Have you ever invited friends from all over the world and had China and France call in on Skype and served stacks on stacks on stacks of fluffy flapjacks? And have you ever thought to yourself, “Good gosh, I’m basically an IHOP, but I just can’t nail down the flavors of their syrups”? Well, then you are both an icon (please be my friend) and in luck (yay!) because IHOP worked with Kraft Heinz and bringing two IHOP syrups to grocery stores to be enjoyed in our own international houses.
Does this include the boysenberry syrup?? (Side Note: Has anyone else been obsessed with that stuff since childhood? No? Just me?)
Okay, I looked into it and apparently the IHOP Boysenberry syrup was discontinued a while ago (I guess it’s been a while since I visited an IHOP) and is definitely not one of the two IHOP syrups coming to stores this week. The two flavors that are coming to stores: IHOP Original Syrup and IHOP Butter Pecan Syrup, and they are available at select stores nationwide starting today.
This is not the first time IHOP has collaborated with Kraft Heinz. They have also done a few different coffee collabs with Keurig cups as well as a few different flavors of coffee beans. But back to the sticky situation at hand. The brands apparently set out to make syrups that taste exactly like what you’d get an an IHOP restaurant, which is great news if you regularly eat at IHOP and love these syrups. If you, like me, aren’t a regular IHOP diner, then you may not know what to expect. The IHOP Original Syrup appears to be a pretty standard pancake syrup, while the IHOP Butter Pecan Syrup is, you guessed it, buttery and nutty (a dupe recipe online calls for just two ingredients, butter-flavored pancake syrup and pecan pecan flavoring). Neither IHOP syrup contains high fructose corn syrup, so that’s nice.
If you are interested in finding out if this new IHOP syrup is worthy of internationally housing your pancake, it’s available starting today (July 23) for $3.98 a bottle at “select stores,” so IHOP on over and grab a bottle.
