You could call me a picky eater. I don’t label myself as that but if you were to sit there and watch me eat, it’s what the common man would label as a picky eater. That’s a low level of thinking. I think I’m just living at an elevated level. I think I just eat the way I want and that we all should emulate my eating habits. Let me explain.

Why Waste Precious Space?
I will absolutely pick around an ingredient that I know I don’t like. It’s not that I haven’t tried it. It’s not even that I absolutely hate the ingredient. I just think there are some foods that I don’t want to lower the overall quality of my meal.
Take a burger for example. I can eat lettuce, tomato, even mustard, and pickles if I really wanted to. I just don’t think they’re worth it. I’ll pick them off if they come on my burger when I’m out at a restaurant. And I’ll do it with my whole chest.
We Need To Keep Focus
There’s nothing better than a simple cheeseburger with ketchup and grilled onions. Anything else you’ll find on a standard burger detracts from the experience. A standard burger doesn’t need all the bells and whistles that they’re throwing on it.
That’s not to say that I won’t eat a burger with a little theme. If you want to throw on bacon, BBQ sauce, and onion rings and call it a Western burger then I’ll go with you on that journey. But at that point, you’re selling me a different standard. The standard shifts. I also wouldn’t want lettuce or tomatoes on my Western burger because that’s not what the focus is.
I Know What I Like
I always get slack for being a meat and potatoes kind of guy instead of the fish and veggies sort. Excuse me for knowing what I like! I can eat a plate of fish with a side of greens and be just fine. I know that I won’t be enjoying that more than a cut of beef with a side of crispy, golden potatoes. Sorry that nature didn’t make veggies taste as good as a potato in any form!
Picky eaters get a bad rap and I know that for a fact. I think we all just need to worry about what we have on our plates. We’re understanding of dietary restrictions when it comes to eating gluten-free or being vegan, but the moment you try to slide a slimy tomato off your burger, you become the bad guy. Let us live!
