As of April 20, there are 52 days until the first game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. That means that there are 52 days for all those food companies out there to get their heads in the game and release limited-edition flavors for us. Come on, guys! A couple of brands have already sprung into action, or seem to be about to: Celsius has been teasing a World Cup edition for a while now, while we recently learned that Lay’s has some US-exclusive World Cup flavors on the way.

The latter makes sense, given that Lay’s is the official snack sponsor of the tournament – and now, it’s been revealed that it’s launching even more chip flavors, in various countries around the world, in honor of all that soccer. Here’s who’s getting what, courtesy of @candyhunting

New Lay’s World Cup Flavors

Brazil

The World Cup is a big deal in Brazil (it is the most successful team of all time in the tournament, after all), and so it’s no surprise that there’s a lot of snack-related fanfare in the country around the games. On the Lay’s front, it’s receiving three new flavors this year: Camembert, Mexican Taco, and Brazilian Picanha. They’re all out now.

South Africa

South Africa’s World Cup-related Lay’s offerings this year are pleasingly international. The country’s got a Canadian Grilled Buttered Lobster flavor, a Nashville Hot Chicken flavor, and a Mexican Mango Chilli Salsa flavor. We’re really not sure how that grilled buttered lobster option’s gonna shake out, given that seafood and chips aren’t the best of bedfellows, but we’re willing to be proved wrong!

Thailand

Another international vibe over in Thailand. English-Style Fish & Chips, Brazilian-Style Spicy Salsa, and German-Style Curry Ketchup are the flavors du jour. As a Brit, I have the sense that fish and chips-flavored chips (or crisps, as I know them) could either be amazing or absolutely terrible. We’ll see.

Poland

Lay’s is doing a lot this year in Poland. So far, Polish Kielbasa, Argentinian Grilled Steak, and Italian Pizza Margherita seem to be the main three chip flavors coming out for the World Cup. Lay’s is also bringing out Mexican Beef Burrito Doritos (which sound awesome, I can’t lie). Beyond that, though, it also looks as though there’ll be two smaller-scale releases of a Blood Sausage flavor and a Dutch Fries with Peanut Curry Sauce flavor. Busy over there!

And What About The United States?

Ah, we’re so glad you asked. In the US, Lay’s is leading with three flavors: Wavy French Onion Soup and Brazilian Style Garlic Sauce, which are both new, and Argentinian Style Steak with Chimichurri, which first debuted last August in a collaboration with Lionel Messi. Back in 2022, the brand also released three flavors for the previous World Cup (which we tried), so we wouldn’t expect many more to come – but hey, it could surprise us.
