Jeni’s Is Celebrating Dolly Parton With A Fundraiser This Week

Ever since the death of the iconic Dolly Parton in late August, companies, monuments, and organizations around the world have been doing their special part in remembering her legacy. From the Empire State building lighting up pink to California declaring September 25 as Dolly Parton day just yesterday, her death has been far from unnoticed, and her legacy is being remembered in many unique ways.

A Legacy Of Philanthropy

The “Queen of Country” herself was bright, bejeweled, unapologetically herself, and perhaps most importantly, a devout philanthropist. Following her passing, you would think that someone whose career primarily revolved around music would have been mostly remembered for her sweet harmonies. 

But a big part of her legacy comes back to the Imagination Library that she started. It’s a foundation that provided new generations with opportunities to read, learn, and grow as individuals when they might not otherwise have had a chance. It literally provided books to children who could not access them, and, upon her death, Parton’s dedication to the people and the success of future generations is the thing that everyone keeps coming back to.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is celebrating the life of Dolly Parton through a special event this Friday, through which aportion of all sales will go to Parton’s Imagination Library.

Doing Good With Ice Cream

For anyone looking to sweeten up their day with a good-hearted scoop of ice cream, there’s no better time to do it than this Friday. On Friday, September 25 (9/25) Jeni’s Scoop Shops across the United States will be donating 25% of their in-person sales from 2 to 5 p.m. to the Imagination Library. Not only are the date and time a clever play on Parton’s song titled “9 to 5,” but Jeni’s has a pattern of showing up and out for Dolly.

A couple of years ago, Jeni’s released a “specially made for Dolly Parton” pint called Strawberry Pretzel Pie. The flavor was a base of a cream cheese ice cream with swirls of strawberry sauce and pretzel streusel mixed in. Just like with this upcoming celebration, proceeds from the special flavor went to the Imagination Library as well.

The celebration on Friday only serves to continue the partnership in collaboration between two fan-favorite entities. And honestly, it’s hard to think of a better combination than ice cream and Dolly Parton. Better yet, throw in some feel good charity work and you have the recipe for a fantastic early-autumn afternoon laid out before you.
