The other day I ventured into World Market to do what I always do, which is buy overpriced baskets and stare at all the pretty Japanese KitKat flavors. And I thought to myself: “Huh. Why hasn’t Kit Kat made a Dubai chocolate flavor yet?” Cut to: Today, I came into work only to see news that Kit Kat actually has released a Dubai chocolate flavor… far, far overseas.

But don’t worry. I’ve figured out some ways for you to get it here in the U.S. (Though I’m really banking on World Market to be the first major retailer to sell it in stores.)
It’s called Kit Kat Pistachio Kunafa, and it’s an exclusive release in the UAE (United Arab Emirates).
The concept: a crispy Kit Kat wafer with creamy pistachio and crunchy kunafa pastry layered inside. It comes in both mini form and classic full-sized chunky bars.
Pistachio Kunafa? That sounds different from Dubai Chocolate.
Not really. It’s just what Dubai chocolate, a more recent viral trend, is based on. Kunafa is a traditional Middle Eastern dessert with shredded phyllo dough (kataifi) and sweet cheese or cream filling. Pistachio Kunafa just features pistachio as the filling or on top as a garnish.
Anyways, getting this new Kit Kat flavor in the U.S. takes work, but it’s not impossible!
You can find it through international snack import sites like Taste of Egypt, Galactic Snacks, Ubuy (not seeing it there yet, but probably soon!), and other UAE-based online retailers that ship to the U.S. Or, hey, you can wait for someone to put it on eBay. That’s a tried-and-true method if there ever was one.
