There I was in a great little market that opened just last year when I found Hershey’s brand stroopwafel from Korea. I grabbed all four flavors. Let’s check out these Korean versions of a Dutch cookie made with American branding.
- Hershey’s Chocolate Waffle
-
Pros: It is a surprisingly thick stroopwafel. I’m not sure it would soften over a cup of coffee, but I’m also more than happy to eat it on its own. It has a high quality chocolate taste. Dare I say it, this tastes better than American Hershey’s chocolate products. Dipping this in some good hot chocolate could fix me at a deep, core level.
Cons: The only complaint I have is with the thickness, and it’s barely a complaint.

- Hershey’s Salty Caramel Waffle
-
Pros: By the end of the bite, this is another very strong flavor in a comparatively small package. I was wondering whether the “salty” part of the “salty caramel” would really earn its stripes—and it does! It tastes like a quality salted caramel truffle. When is Hershey’s bringing these to the United States?
Cons: The caramel is very muted at first taste; I was briefly confused whether I grabbed the wrong cookie. The salted caramel flavor comes in strong after some chewing, but you do have that initial confusion to work through.

- Hershey’s Hazelnut Waffle
-
Pros: This stroopwafel isn’t giving Nutella at all; the hazelnut flavor is actually much stronger. This waffle is also a smidge softer than the chocolate and caramel textures. It could be a difference in shipping conditions or production date, I’ll never know. That’s just part of the gamble with international products.
Cons: I’m surprised there aren’t any actual small hazelnut pieces in this. Per the images on the boxes, none of these stroopwafels have any inclusions at all—just flavoring.

- Hershey’s Mandarin Waffle
-
Pros: As a huge fan of chocolate oranges, I saved this one for last expecting it to be my favorite. My predictions were correct; this is fantastic. The mandarin orange flavor is genuinely surprising in its accuracy; I’m not sure how, but it tastes like I just took a peel off of this stroopwafel.
Cons: No complaints, this is the perfect stroopwafel. We need these in the states ASAP.
