If you hang out in the same parts of the Internet as me, you’re already familiar with the fabled Lenox Spice Village. These collectible spice jars are a blast from the past that will turn any kitchen into a bona fide sculpture gallery. McCormick, no small fry in the spice game themselves, has partnered with Lenox on a pretty fun collaboration—truly a match made in cottagecore heaven.

What is the Lenox Spice Village?

Back in 1989, Lenox debuted the 24-piece Spice Village: a set of unique hand-painted porcelain house-shaped jars made to hold Rosemary, Oregano, Basil, Allspice, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Garlic, Saffron, Bay, Tarragon, Ginger, Thyme, Parsley, Marjoram, Mustard, Clove, Coriander, Sage, Paprika, Onion, Chive, Pepper, Celery, and Dill. Lenox discontinued the Spice Village in 1993, turning a complete original set into a collector’s dream that fetches high prices online. After decades of demands from a needy public, Lenox revived the concept with a “Second Edition” in 2024.

What is the McCormick and Lenox collaboration?

McCormick has partnered with Lenox to offer three-, six-, and nine-piece combo sets that pair select spices/herbs from McCormick’s Gourmet collection with Lenox’s iconic jars. Considering Lenox’s single-spice jars cost $16, a nine-piece set for $150 means you’re basically getting nine jars of McCormick Gourmet herbs and spices for a whopping six bucks.

Is there anything else new from Lenox Spice Village collection?

“New” can be pretty broad when we’re talking about a collection that started in 1989. That said, there have been multiple additions to the original set of 24 spices since the 2024 revival. At present, you can add to your 24-house collection with the following regionally themed three-piece sets: French Quarter (Cajun, Curry, and Creole Seasoning), Santa Fe (Mexican Blend, Cumin, and Chili Powder), West Coast (Salmon Spice, Sea Salt, and Lavender), and Italian Market (Old Bay, Italian Seasoning, and Everything Bagel). There’s also a six-piece holiday set (Cocoa, Holiday Sprinkles, Cinnamon Sugar, Pumpkin Spice, Poultry Seasoning, and Gingerbread Spice).

Lenox also offers Spice Village teapots, mugs, canisters, salt and pepper shakers, recipe boxes, hors d’oeuvres trays, paper towel holders, spoon rests, cake plates, tissue box holders, bread boxes, butter dishes, and more. Basically, you can replace your entire kitchen with these fine porcelain house-shaped housewares.
