Do you remember, back in April, when we brought you the news that Liquid Death’s Feastables Peanut Butter Cup Water was a thing? Remember how shocked you felt, and how the drinks world raised a collective eyebrow at the prospect of…peanut butter cup-flavored sparkling water? If you don’t, we’d get it; when we discussed it a couple of months ago, the prospect of Peanut Butter Cup Water was looming, but not yet imminent. It had started appearing on retailers’ websites, but hadn’t been seen in the wild yet.

Well, now it has. Liquid Death’s Feastables Peanut Butter Cup Water is now in stores. And the response is…mixed. Let’s discuss.
It’s Arrived!
Physical confirmation of the existence of Liquid Death’s Feastables Peanut Butter Cup Water was provided a few days ago by @candyhunting, who posted a picture of a few six-can packs of the drink, saying that it was spotted in Woodman’s. It’s here. It’s real. It’s available for purchase.
The response to this, though, wasn’t exactly one of universal praise – and in case you were in any doubt about whether this flavor’s going to be divisive…well, it’s divisive. Some people on @candyhunting’s post were baffled to the point of disgust about this new flavor, and one particularly incisive individual posed a larger point about Liquid Death’s approach to drinks and what it means for the wider beverage world and its landscape. “The problem with all of these weird flavors and the reason they are not going away anytime soon is because all it takes is for a bunch of curious people to try it one time and they make a profit. They have nothing to lose.”
But…How Does It Taste?
Well – perhaps the wildest thing about all of this is that some people are enjoying this drink. A lot. “Ngl I loved this so much I bought three more the day after I first tried it,” said one early taste-tester of the drink on Reddit, who also mentioned that it tastes exactly like carbonated liquid Reese’s, but with barely any sugar. Another person provided further analysis. “It’s honestly not that bad, it tastes like a peanut butter chocolate protein shake without the milk if that makes sense.”
So, has Liquid Death nailed this one? Is it good? Is it worth buying? If you’re curious about what chocolate and peanut butter flavored water tastes like, then sure. Personally, I’m not, but we all have our interests.
