By now, you’ve probably run across the very cute, very misguided food delivery robots known for blocking fire trucks, getting stuck in bike racks, hitting cars, rolling like metal tumbleweeds down stairs, and just generally being a menace to society. Well, if you think those little guys are nuts, don’t look up. Food delivery has officially hit the skies.

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a Little Caesar’s pizza attached to a Flytrex Sky2 drone!
Little Caesar’s has partnered with Flytrex Drone Delivery to become one of the first major restaurant chains to launch steaming hot pizza into the stratosphere. Guys: imagine seeing one of these every fifteen minutes above your head. Just a little pizza, floating across the city by the arms of a tiny whirring chopper. I think we’re living in The Jetsons universe now.
When the drone hits your eye with a big pizza pie, that’s amore.
What, did you think I was going to write an informative article about this? Buddy. There’s pizza in the sky. That’s all you need to know.
Alright, fine, here’s the deal: Flytrex Drone Delivery was already a thing that existed before Little Caesar got involved. It’s been around in the US since 2020. It’s basically an app that you can order food and groceries from if you live in certain parts of Texas and North Carolina, where it currently operates.
The first Little Caesars location using this is in Wylie, Texas. Flytrex can travel up to four miles, and the average trip allegedly takes about 4.5 minutes. That’s pretty darn speedy.
Flytrex is working with the FAA to expand their delivery range, though. Which is a statement that makes me nervous, because I’m not sure the FAA can handle more than what’s already on their plate right now.
My take: This is what we should be using drones for. This and nothing else.
That is all I will say on the matter. Good day.
