No word on whether they’ll parmesan crust the bill, though.

Everyone agrees that cheese makes just about any dish better. But would it also improve the glass of water that comes with that dish? Well, it looks like LongHorn Steakhouse is willing to find out with a slightly horrifying new drink option. But will you be seeing it officially on the menu? Let’s find out…

Why would anyone offer cheesy crusted water?

One of the most popular items on the LongHorn Steakhouse is their Parmesan Crusted Chicken, which features tasty coating made from ranch dressing, Parmesan cheese, and panko bread crumbs. In fact, it’s become so popular that LongHorn started offering that Parmesan crust as an upcharge on other items on the menu. So, for around three bucks extra, you can get that delicious cheesy crust slathered onto whatever you want.

Of course, giving diners that option meant that fans soon started trying it on everything on the menu, like this Facebook diner who ordered such questionable items as a Parmesan crusted caesar salad and a Parmesan crusted cheesecake.

Do they really have Parmesan Crusted Water on the menu?

Well, it’s not listed as an option, but apparently they’ll serve it to you if you ask. We know because of the brave ordering of Redditor Sable-Industries, who shared an image of the cheese-coated glass of water he ordered while dining at the steakhouse. He also gave a bit more information about the ordering, which did not go as planned.

Alright here’s the story

Longhorn memes made me go yesterday. I asked what they will parmesan crust and they said pretty much anything for $2.49. I asked for my bread to be parmesan crusted but what about my water. My wife was like no he’s joking don’t bring that but I said I’m not kidding. They brought it out. They said they never had anyone parm crust a water. The kitchen manager came out and said I have to meet the guy who ordered this. She said she had to make the parm crust on a plate and slit it along onto the cup. Thats why there the drink was so sticky. Anyways they brought me an actual water. The best part was it was one of my waitresses first day. My wife and the staff were laughing the whole time we had dinner.

Yeah I drank some of it. It tasted as bad as you would expect. It was sitting there and I couldn’t not try it. It tasted like if you made a cheesy soup but left water sitting in the pot afterwards.

Halfway through dinner I asked them to take it away from the table. My wife couldn’t stand she sight of it and made me put it where she wouldn’t see it. Funniest part is she asked for some water at one point so I nudged my cheesy water towards her instead of my regular cup. She immediately was like “NO THE OTHER ONE”.

Anyways, I had a good laugh with the staff and my wife. For $2.49 it was worth it. Life’s too short not to enjoy life

So yeah, they’ll give it to you if you order it. But does that mean you should? I guess it depends on whether you want to spend a couple bucks to have some ridiculous fun with your meal. But if you’re looking to actually enjoy drinking it, you might want to order something else. Maybe something more normal, like LongHorn’s promise rings made out of steak?
