Every day, I wake up, open my eyes, stare at the ceiling, and think: “Will today be the day that the Dubai chocolate trend dies?” And every day, I’m proved wrong, when another pistachio and kadayif combination hits the food world in some form I hadn’t anticipated. A couple of days ago, that happened in ice cream bar form, when Magnum unleashed its brand-new Dubai Chocolate Style bars onto us all.

And if you’re a Sam’s Club member, you’re in luck: You can pick up a 12-pack next time you’re there. Here’s what to know about this new frosty delight.
Magnum Dubai Chocolate Style Ice Cream Bars
First off, it’s important to point out that Magnum’s new Dubai Chocolate Style Ice Cream Bars may be new to US customers, but they aren’t necessarily new to the rest of the world. This flavor has already been doing the rounds in a couple of other countries, including Turkey, Singapore, and (very appropriately) the UAE.
Now, though, they’re parking up at Sam’s Club, where a 12-count costs just under $12. As for what’s in ‘em, Magnum’s ice cream bars are made from a combination of pistachio and kadayif ice cream filling with a crunchy chocolate shell, which is studded with more pieces of kadayif. The chocolate itself is 39% cacao, promising a richer flavor than that delivered by some other ice cream bars out there. And we love rich flavors.
Level With Us, Though: Is It Any Good?
According to people who have tried it, yes, it is! Magnum’s Dubai-style ice cream has been going down a treat so far with customers. “I had the pleasure of trying a Magnum ice cream with Dubai chocolate, and it was absolutely superb,” said a customer review over on Facebook. “The rich chocolate shell encases a creamy pistachio and crunchy interior, creating a truly next-level experience.” Hit this person up, Magnum, they should do your copy for you!
And… Is It Actually Dubai Style?
Well, it’s closer than some other products get, that’s for sure. Calling a product that has a combination of pistachio and chocolate “Dubai style” has been seriously in vogue recently, even if it isn’t actually Dubai-style at all (we’re looking at you, Van Leeuwen). However, what Magnum does understand is that for something to fit into the realm of Dubai-style chocolate, it has to have a combination of pistachio and kadayif. The whole vibe of it is that it’s a combination of creamy, nutty, and crispy in just the right way, and we feel as though this ice cream bar might just get there.
Magnum was quick to get in there with the US market on this one, considering that Häagen-Dazs may well be dropping its own Dubai chocolate ice cream bars very soon. Until then, these will be at your disposal, along with all the other Dubai-style-inspired treats out there (Lindt Pistachio Truffles, anyone?).
