New Freezer Aisle Dole Whip Cups Are *Almost* as Good as the Disney Originals

Last month, I spent a sacrilegious amount of money on a trip to Disney World—in part, so I could try Dole Whip for the first time. While I was on that trip, Dole reached out to ask if I wanted to try the new Dole Whip Cups being sold in the freezer aisle. If they’d only asked sooner, I could have saved all that Mickey money. Anyway, today I’ve got two varieties of Dole Whip, let’s see if they stack up to what I had at EPCOT.

Pineapple Dole Whip Cups

Pros: There’s a reason this hit Disney tourists like a truck when it launched: Pineapple Dole Whip hits. The flavor is fantastically pineapple-y and it’s almost unbelievable there’s no dairy in it. I won’t say the freezer cup is a pitch-perfect replication of the texture, but how could it be? Even directly out of the freezer, the texture is soft and spoonable—no “four seconds in the microwave” needed to scoop this stuff.

Cons: Weird note, but there was like 20% less Pineapple Dole Whip in this cup than the Mango Dole Whip cup. The Mango Dole Whip also has slightly different packaging; it’s very possible they changed how they fill cups between batches.

Pros: As we’ve covered, I’m not the biggest mango fan. Everything I stated about the Pineapple Dole Whip still applies here though: The flavor is super strong and the lack of dairy is a miracle in little treat science. If you like mango the way I like pineapple, this is going to be perfect for you.

Cons: Call me a mango hater, but I wish we’d gotten a different fruit flavor entirely to launch alongside pineapple. Dole Whip has been sold in so many flavors at this point. Where are the at-home versions of strawberry, orange, lime, etc. etc. etc.?

Where can I get Dole Whip Cups for myself?

Dole Whip Cups are available at select grocers (check the store locator here) and at Costco. Let’s all go buy the Pineapple Dole Whip en masse and the Mango Dole Whip just enough that they expand the line to all the other flavors Dole has innovated over the years.
