McDonald’s has a whole world of menu items that U.S. fans rarely get to try. Luckily, the McDonald’s headquarters restaurant in Chicago is giving customers a little taste of what the rest of the world has been enjoying.

The new menu was recently spotted by @snackolator and it’s making many U.S. fans feel left out.

So Much Bacon

First up is the Bacon BBQ Stack, a U.K. favorite that knows exactly what it is doing. The burger comes with two beef patties, bacon, pepper jack cheese, tomato, lettuce, onions, and BBQ sauce.

The Bacon BBQ Stack has appeared on McDonald’s Chicago Global Menu before, giving American customers a chance to try one of the chain’s international favorites without booking a flight across the Atlantic.

Then there is the Bacon Hot Honey McCrispy from Canada. This one may ring a bell for U.S. McDonald’s fans because it made its way onto the American menu at the beginning of the year.

The sandwich combines a crispy chicken filet with hot honey sauce, Applewood smoked bacon, crispy jalapeños, shredded lettuce, and mayo on a toasted potato roll. It’s sweet, spicy, salty, and crispy.

Japan’s Spicy Garlic Black Pepper McNuggets

The Spicy Garlic Black Pepper McNuggets might be the sleeper hit of the bunch. These nuggets are coated in a seasoning that brings garlic, black pepper, and some heat to the crunchy chicken bites.

Japan’s Spicy Garlic Black Pepper McNuggets recently made its way to Canada and now it’s in McDonald’s HQ.

And Then There Are The Onion Rings

For anyone who has wondering why McDonald’s has fries but no onion rings, the Australian side is currently part of the Chicago Global Favorites menu, giving American customers a rare chance to order it.

But for now, anyone outside Chicago will have to admire them from afar or start planning a trip.

Dessert Is Making A Strong Case For A Flight To Chicago

The dessert lineup is not playing around, either. The Salted Caramel Dipped Cone comes from South Korea and gives the classic soft-serve cone a sweet, salty upgrade. McDonald’s has previously featured the international favorite at its Chicago Global Menu restaurant.

Then comes the OREO Salted Caramel McFlurry, which takes that salted caramel flavor and mixes it with vanilla soft serve and OREO pieces.

And then there are the McPops. The little filled donuts come in Dulce de Leche, Berry, and Chocolate Hazelnut flavors. McPops have appeared on McDonald’s menus in Spain before, including chocolate hazelnut and berry versions.

Why Is This Menu Only In Chicago?

The Global Menu restaurant exists because McDonald’s uses its Chicago headquarters location to showcase items from its restaurants around the world.

So most U.S. fans are going to have to settle for pictures and envy.

Still, if McDonald’s ever decides to take this menu beyond Chicago, there are already a few obvious options worth bringing along. Starting with the onion rings, for me.
