The upcoming soda was first spotted in leaked product information shared by Mountain Dew fan account TeamSupernovaFB, with images of the packaging circulating online. The leak points to an early January nationwide release. And yes, Zero Sugar fans are getting their own version too.
Berry Guava Baja Sounds Very Fruity
The new Berry Guava Baja is expected to combine guava, strawberry, and lime. Guava should give it that sweet tropical taste, while strawberry brings the berry flavor. Lime adds some bright citrus to keep the whole thing from becoming too sweet.
This puts it in familiar Baja territory without simply copying Baja Blast. The original Baja Blast has that tropical lime flavor, while the newer Baja Cabo Citrus has a tropical citrus punch with mandarin and lime notes.
The flavor combination has already caught the attention of Dew fans online. In a Reddit discussion about the leaked flavor, commenters described the guava, strawberry, and lime combination as something they were excited to try, while others were especially happy to see another upcoming Baja flavor getting a Zero Sugar option.
The Zero Sugar Version Comes With A Catch
Anyone who prefers Zero Sugar Mountain Dew will not have to sit this one out. Berry Guava Baja is expected to launch with a Zero Sugar version, giving fans a way to try the new flavor without the regular sugar.
The Zero Sugar 20-ounce bottles are reportedly only sticking around through the end of March 2027.
The good news is that Zero Sugar fans will still have another option. Both Berry Guava Baja varieties are expected to be sold in 12-ounce 12-packs, and those multipacks are reportedly planned to stay available throughout the year.
So, anyone who falls hard for the Zero Sugar version may want to keep an eye out for those 12-packs once the 20-ounce bottles disappear.
Baja Has Come A Long Way
Baja Blast started as a Taco Bell exclusive back in 2004. Twenty years later, Mountain Dew made Baja Blast available year-round, giving fans a permanent way to get their hands on the famous tropical soda.
Since then, the Baja name has continued to grow.
Mountain Dew has released plenty of new Baja flavors over the years, with some sticking around longer than others. Baja Cabo Citrus, for example, joined the permanent lineup, while other flavors have come and gone as limited releases.
The brand has also gotten much more adventurous with Baja. Some versions have leaned into berries and tropical fruit, while others have gone in much stranger directions.
Berry Guava Baja sounds like a fairly easy flavor to love by comparison. Strawberry and guava bring the sweetness, while lime gives it a little zing.
January Could Be The Start Of A Big Year For Dew
If the information flying around is accurate, Berry Guava Baja will hit stores on January 4, 2027. Cabo Citrus will also be available in a 2-liter bottle in January 2027, so Mountain Dew fans have a lot to look forward to in January.
