Ah, the past. Simpler times. Happier times. Times when we enjoyed the delicious taste of Mountain Dew’s alternative flavors without a care in the world. Yes, we are well aware that we’re doing Mountain Dew’s marketing for it with that last sentence – but that’s what the brand clearly wants you to think with its new Variety Pack. The drinks giant is bringing out a new three-pack that contains a trio of throwback flavors, including one that’s been gone for a while.

Mountain Dew Variety Pack: Good Things Come In Threes
News of Mountain Dew’s new variety pack came via @snackwire, who also told us which three flavors we can expect in it. The pack will include:
Mountain Dew Code Red
The brand’s combination of cherry and citrus notes has been around since 2001, making it officially the same age as “Shrek,” which makes us feel all nostalgic (and very old). This variation has been a staple in the Mtn Dew product line for ages, and last year PepsiCo brought out Hard Mountain Dew Code Red, a boozy version. If we’re being real with you, when we taste-tested it, we found that it had a weird aftertaste. But that’s by the by, because here, you’re getting the non-alcoholic kind.
Mountain Dew Voltage
Ah, Mountain Dew Voltage. The brand’s raspberry-flavored drink has been on shelves for a minute, and for all of that minute, we haven’t loved it. It’s actually our least favorite Mtn Dew flavor, which is saying a lot considering how many options you have. Nonetheless, it’s going to be in this new variety pack, so…let’s celebrate, I guess?
Mountain Dew White Out Smooth Citrus
Now we’re interested! We reported on the fact that Mountain Dew White Out might be coming back this year a couple of weeks ago, and now we seem to have gotten confirmation of that via this variety pack. White Out Smooth Citrus has a tart, bright flavor profile with almost a yuzu note, and it was refreshing – so when it was discontinued in 2019, people weren’t happy. Well, now, they can be. Because it’s back. Allegedly. Maybe.
When Will This New Variety Pack Be Available?
According to @snackwire, we’re looking at a mid-to-late May release for this new selection, although it is quick to note that nothing’s been officially confirmed just yet. That said, it’ll probably launch in major retailers. We also hope that Mountain Dew White Out Smooth Citrus will be available separately, if you don’t want to have to deal with the Voltage of it all. I’m confused… Code Red Cherry? I thought Code Red was already cherry flavored (and that’s the reason I hate it).
Pretty sure the theme isn’t throwback; it’s red, white and blue. Not a mystery since the 250th anniversary of the USA is coming up. And voltage is the best flavor. Distortion was my all time favorite though but White Out bested it in the dew-mocracy.
If it doesn’t include Pitch Black, I’ll pass.

mt dew is a lyer, cir kle k was to contract berry/plum but now we cant get in that flavor even there, in cans and bottles. but no other conv chai can get it either… AND when you mix that flavor w/vanilla/caramel ice cream….. OMG OMG thats FABULOUS, MT DEW FLOATS…PLUM,BERRY,VANILLA,KARMAL…..get it??? lololol

Why doesn’t PepsiCo make Code Red in zero sugar or even diet?! All they have is regular Code Red where I live in Florida. I would love to see Code Red in zero sugar!
I don’t know why it’s not available nationwide, but I’m like 99% sure that I saw Zero Sugar Code Red the last time I went to Kentucky.
Code Red Zero is available in very limited markets in Wisconsin. I’ve personally bought it at Piggly Wiggly in Port Washington, WI
My two favorites in one pack! Code red will always be my #1 with Voltage a close 2nd. If Baja blast or original were the 3rd, you’d have my custom variety pack. Dragon fruit and purple plum one are great too!

I think they changed the flavor of voltage. I used to hate it as well but it doesn’t taste as bitter anymore. I went to 7/11 to get the Cabo mountain dew but they were out. The deal was 2 for 4 and they had what my fiance wanted so I had to pick something mountain dew. Just grabbed dot for the deal. We both agreed it tastes different. She really hates ginseng but she wanted another rone. I know the ginseng is in it but you don’t taste it the same way that you used to.

Voltage is definitely one of the best tasting Dews that exist. We purchase that flavor all the time.
Raspberry Voltage tastes AWESOME!! I like it better than Code Red and I drank that all the time.

Pitch Black is the best in my opinion. You can’t even find it anymore which is a shame.
