Remember a few days ago when I said the Coca-Cola Company was calling 2026 the “Year of Cherry“? Well, one of the centerpieces of that movement is ready to step into the spotlight in a major way. Coke’s revamped Mr. Pibb formula is now hitting shelves nationwide, just in time for the brand to get two variants later this month. Here’s hoping this “kickin’ cherry soda” has the legs to survive in this harsh, discontinuation-heavy world.

Didn’t Mr. Pibb already come back?
True Pibbheads will recall that I first covered this new look and taste for Mr. Pibb back in October 2025. What I didn’t know at that time was that The Coca-Cola Company was planning to roll this drink out slowly—starting in regions where Pibb XTRA performed very well and gradually expanding to cover the whole country. By the end of this month, the new Mr. Pibb should well and truly be everywhere Coca-Cola products are sold (including a Zero Sugar variant, if that’s your style). That’s an important milestone to hit, since the end of this month will also bring the first extensions to the Mr. Pibb line.
And what are these new flavors?
The first two flavor variants of this brand-new Mr. Pibb formula are “Thrillin’ Vanilla” and “Punchin’ Peach.” While vanilla is a fairly common flavor addition for sodas, peach is a relative rarity. That said, the most obvious variant is cherry, which Mr. Pibb already has in spades, so it’s understandable they veered into slightly different territory. (I’m hoping we see a Mr. Pibb Prime Lime at some point; cherry limeade is so underrated.)
When can I try Mr. Pibb Thrillin’ Vanilla and Punchin’ Peach for myself?
Per my sources in the beverage ecosystem, we can expect these two new Mr. Pibb variants to hit shelves in the last week of February. Both flavors will be released in 20oz bottles and 12-packs of 12oz cans. At this time, there’s nothing to suggest these flavors will get a Zero Sugar version in retail; we might see Thrillin’ Vanilla and Punchin’ Peach Mr. Pibb Zero Sugar in Coca-Cola Freestyle machines at least.
