It’s the first hydration drink to really focus on the kid’s market.

It sure seems like the hottest trend in drinks today is “hydration,” with more and more brands focusing on giving customers more fluids and electrolytes than they can get from just chugging regular water. And just as Gatorade recently released their new hydration-focused drink Gatorade Longer Lasting, the kid’s drink company Capri-Sun has unveiled their new drink Capri-Sun Hydrate. Here’s what you need to know.

How what makes Capri-Sun Hydrate different from regular Capri-Sun?

According to the company, Capri-Sun Hydrate offers more electrolytes and Vitamin E, while offering 50% less sugar than “regular” sports drinks. And it also offers no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.

Like that Gatorade Longer Lasting drink I mentioned earlier, Capri-Sun Hydrate looks like it’s targeted to appeal to people who want to be drinking it through out the day, only Capri-Sun is specifically targeting the kids market, which is why they’re emphasizing the lack of sugar to parents looking for a drink pouch for lunches. (And the idea that you’re less likely to push your kids into a sugar high and subsequent sugar crash sounds like a real perk to me.)

Now, we should mention that this isn’t the first Capri-Sun drink to offer benefits beyond fruit flavor, as they also offer Capri-Sun Multivitamin (which offers vitamin C, B3, E, B6, B1 and Biotin) and Capri-Sun Electrolytes (with magnesium, Vitamin C, B2 and B6).

What flavors does it come in?

While they’re keeping two of the most popular Capri-Sun flavors—Fruit Punch and Tropical Punch—they’re also adding a new flavor, Lemon Lime.
