Listings for a New Cheez-It Flavor Leaked Online: Cheesy Garlic Bread

We love a good leak. It gives us a giddy thrill when we find out about new food and drinks before they’ve been officially announced by the companies that make them – and at the moment, leaks are absolutely everywhere. In the last three days(!) we’ve brought you news of the leak of a new Crush flavor, new Sprite flavors, and three new Taco Bell items. Someone needs to call a plumber!

Now, we’re at it again, because we just found out that a new Cheez-It flavor has poked its head above the parapet. Listings for Cheez-It Cheesy Garlic Bread have appeared on the Shaw’s and Acme Markets websites, and in the last 24 hours or so, customers have also started finding the flavor in stores. It’s coming. We’re ready.

Cheez-It Cheesy Garlic Bread

This new Cheez-It flavor, which doesn’t seem to have any official release information accompanying it, is pretty exciting. The box promises a garlic butter-inflected flavor in each baked cracker, and can we spy Parmesan cheese in the ingredients list? Yes, we can. So, while we obviously can’t expect Michelin-star quality from a box of crackers, we’re hoping that these have just a bit more depth than some of the other Cheez-It flavors out there.

While info about where these Cheez-Its will be available is pretty patchy at the moment (the flavor isn’t listed on the Cheez-It website yet, so there’s no product locator option), one intrepid customer did manage to track down a fresh box at Safeway. In a video posted yesterday, Instagram user @bradmill99 posted what we think is the first taste-test of the Cheesy Garlic Bread flavor. His review called the Cheez-Its “pretty good” and “delicious,” and said that the brand did a good job with this one. So far, so good!

Move Fast, When You Can

While we can’t say for sure, judging by the low-key rollout of this flavor so far, Cheez-It might not be hitting us with a press release any time soon – and so, this may well be a “find it where you can” kinda situation. Acme and Shaw’s are a safe bet, though, given that it’s literally on their websites, so fingers crossed it drops in the coming days.

Cheez-It Cheesy Garlic Bread will also be a “find it while you can” situation: Judging by the product image, this is a limited-time flavor (although again, we don’t have any info on when it’ll disappear for good). Garlic bread has an evergreen appeal, and cheesy garlic bread is even more appealing – so if this is a smash hit, we wouldn’t be surprised if it gets a bit of a boost. We think that Kellanova, the company that makes Cheez-It crackers, might have to shout a little louder about it if they want that to happen, though.
