You know Daisy as one of the best sour cream brands out there. Now, they’re making the very logical jump to creamy dips.
These new dips use the iconic Daisy sour cream as a base and come in two classic flavors: ranch and French onion. The containers are large and the price is low. So far, I’m loving everything about these! Now, it’s time to see how these new Daisy sour cream dips fair when it comes to taste.
I love ranch dip. It’s like ranch dressing, but thicker! What’s not to love about that? Let’s break down Daisy’s version of ranch dip.
Pros: This dip is beautifully thick. It won’t drip off a tortilla chip or carrot stick. The ranch flavor is present but subtle. It won’t overpower whatever you pair with it. Plus, you really get that rich Daisy sour cream flavor.
Cons: For my money, there could be a little more of a ranch punch. I am, however, someone who likes a lot of flavor. Especially if I’m pairing this with veggies, I want lots of flavor and salt brought to the table. That’s my one small complaint.
This isn’t the best french onion dip I’ve ever had, but I definitely like it! Here’s what I would keep the same and what I’d change:
Pros: Like the ranch dip, this French onion dip is also wonderfully thick. You really can’t go wrong when you start a dip with great sour cream. The onion flavor is mellow. This is a dip for an onion liker, not an onion lover. I think most people are probably onion likers.
Cons: I am an onion lover. I want a ton of savory caramelized onion flavor in my French onion dip. This is just not onion-y enough for me. Also, the smell is a little funky. Not bad, just funky.
I would not buy this again, but I would definitely recommend if you want something rich, creamy, and mild.

Today I picked up a container of the new Daisy French Onion Dip. I was really looking forward to enjoying some chips and dip while watching some late night television. I opened the container and dipped my chip in. I was anticipating that delicious burst of flavor on my tongue. What I didn’t expect was almost gagging. That was the nastiest most disgusting dip ever. I thought SE Grocers had totally topped the ranks of the worst French Onion dip. I didn’t think anyone could be worse. But the Daisy Brand has taken nasty to a whole new level. ,
My husband took a bite at the same time as me. His comment was, “you can have that. I don’t want no part of that s__t.” What I almost feel obligated to say to Daisy……”Stick to what you know. T
