Jersey Mike’s is the best sub chain in the country. Come at me in the comments if you don’t agree. But Mike’s way truly is the best way and I won’t be convinced otherwise. And one of the best condiments at Jersey Mike’s is the chopped pepper relish. It makes everything even better. Well, now it’s the start of an all new, limited-time sub. Let’s get into it.

What is this new Jersey Mike’s sub?

Meet the Mike’s Hot Italian sub. You get ham, salami, and pepperoni grilled and chopped with provolone cheese. Then it’s topped with grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and, of course, the chopped pepper relish. All on your choice of bread. Sounds pretty darn good if you ask me.

If it seems familiar, that’s because this new sub was tested last year in four markets: Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, San Diego, and Chicago. And apparently it proved to be a success.

Is this a permanent addition to the menu?

Sadly, no. This is a limited-time special, which is also coming with a limited time discounted price. You can get a regular for $8.95 or a large for $16.95. For comparison, a regular, not-hot Italian sub goes for more than $11, with a large going for close to $20. That’s a pretty good deal!

Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients. Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now). Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test! Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
