Do you enjoy being drunk with power? Do you like feeling heard? Do you want a multinational corporation to bend to YOUR will for a change? Well, we have good news: In January 2026, Mars is releasing three new M&M’s flavors and it’ll be up to you (and me and everyone we know) to pick the best one.
What are the three new flavors? And why do WE have to pick a favorite—maybe it’s too much pressure after all??
Okay, before you’re prematurely overtaken by decision paralysis, let’s talk about the new M&M’s flavors, all of which are part of the so-called Bakery Collection. First there’s Chocolate Cherry Cupcake, which seems like it could be similar to those Easter Sundae M&M’s that came out last year (and that would be fine, because those were GREAT). Then there’s Lemon Meringue Pie, which, according to the image on the bag, appears to involve white chocolate M&M’s with some sort of pie crust center; and, hey, we know they can do zesty, citrus-y desserts well. Lastly, there’s the most befuddling flavor of the bunch, Peanut Butter Cinnamon Roll. Are peanut butter cinnamon rolls naturally occurring phenomena? Do peanut butter and cinnamon even go together? Welp, we’ll find out soon enough.
How does the voting work?
All three of the limited edition flavors come with a QR code on the bag, so you can scan it and vote for your favorite. The winning flavor will continue to be sold in stores, but it’s unclear for how long.
Is this the first time M&M’s has done something like this?
M&M’s launched its first Flavor Vote contest in 2016, when the winning flavor was Coffee Nut. The contest returned in 2018, when Crunchy Mint came out on top, and again in 2019, when English Toffee Peanut beat out Mexican Jalapeño Peanut and Thai Coconut Peanut. A Flavor Vote victory doesn’t seem to guarantee long-term availability—all of the previous winning flavors have since been discontinued.
When will the competition launch?
The Bakery Collection M&M’s are expected to hit stores in January 2026, but it isn’t clear quite yet how long voting will be open or how long the winner will stick around. If you’re super into one of the flavors, by all means, exercise your right to vote—but you might want to stock up, too.
