Today, I have details on five Monster Energy drinks hitting shelves later this year. We’ll be going over the drinks individually; there’s truly something for everyone in this list.
Where did this news come from?
You would be surprised by how many people think I’m going to publicly name the brave souls who risk their jobs just to tell little old me about upcoming drink releases. Check my track record; how often do I get this kind of thing wrong? (Okay, the answer is like 5% of the time but…c’mon.) Let’s just get into these new Monsters.
Monster Ultra Black Energy
Chronologically, this is the first release we need to cover and it’s the least “new.” Monster Ultra Black Energy has been a mainstay in the Monster lineup for almost two decades; that said, in recent years, this black cherry energy drink has only been available online through outlets like Amazon. This September, Monster Ultra Black Energy will return to retail exclusively at the Kroger family of stores for a limited time.
Monster Orange Dreamsicle & Electrical Blue Energy
I don’t have flavor profiles on these two releases; that said, I’m pretty sure I know what the first flavor is going to taste like. For one, there’s already an Orange Dreamsicle Monster Energy flavor on shelves in their “Reserve” line. I haven’t gotten a confident answer whether this release will replace that flavor, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
The more interesting flavor here is, of course, “Electrical Blue.” Blue Raspberry? Blueberry? Blue Lemonade!? Whatever this flavor ends up being, I’m looking forward to it. Both of these flavors will be launching in early October and available indefinitely.
Monster Juice Bad Apple
The Bad Apple Monster Juice flavor has been sold in the U.K. for a little while now, but we’ll be trying this crisp red apple Monster drink for the first time this October. And this one will be a permanent addition to the Juice lineup.
Monster Ultra Wild Passion Energy
Finally, we’ve got a new addition to the zero-sugar Ultra lineup. “Wild Passion” definitely has me assuming this will be a passion fruit-flavored drink, but there’s always a chance they surprise us with something else. (Remember when they released Ultra Blue Hawaiian and it was blue raspberry?) Again, this will be a permanent release launching in early October. October will be a big month for my Monster Energy reviews, that’s for sure.
