It’s a Mountain Dew summer, y’all! With seven (SEVEN!) new Dews coming soon or currently in stores, this summer is bound to be a (Baja) Blast. We’ve tried all but two of these and have thoughts—but mostly, we think limited releases are just mean and these summer specials (some, not all) should be around all year. With July 4th and the most sweltering days of summer right around the corner, you might want to pick a favorite and stock up before it’s gone.
Mountain Dew Baja Cabo Citrus
We tried this tropical citrus-flavored ‘Dew back when it first hit stores in April, and it’s great for anyone who likes a nice orange-forward soda (just don’t expect a lot of lime). Baja Cabo Citrus is currently available nationwide, wherever you usually get your Mountain Dew, and you can find both diet and regular versions. My one pet peeve about limited releases is that sometimes there’s no diet option (don’t judge, I can’t always do that much sugar!).
Mountain Dew Summer Freeze
Sporked managing editor Gwynedd Stuart taste tested this Mountain Dew flavor when it was first released in 2023, and decided that if you’re a fan of blue raspberry and don’t mind a super-sweet soda, you’re gonna like this one. If you don’t like super-sweet soda, I don’t think you’re on the right side of the internet. Either way, this limited edition Mountain Dew flavor is available in full sugar and zero sugar versions everywhere you buy Dew (until it isn’t).
Mountain Dew Infinite Swirl
YES, Infinite Swirl is back in grocery stores, and yes we REALLY like it (you’re relieved, we know). If, likewise, you’re into pineapple and berry, you might think this is kind of perfect, too. There’s already a bunch of people on TikTok campaigning to make Infinite Swirl part of the permanent lineup, and I have to say, I’m on their side. For now, you can find this flavor at 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes stores.
Mountain Dew Baja Midnight
If you liked Mountain Dew Baja Passionfruit Punch, which came out back in 2023, we have good news: Mountain Dew Baja Midnight appears to be the same bev and it’s in some Taco Bell locations as we speak. If you’re not one of the lucky ones, the release expands to Taco Bell locations nationwide in August.
Mountain Dew Dragon Fruit
We’ve received word that the new Dragon Fruit Mountain Dew, a Walmart exclusive on shelves now, is BOLD and not for the faint of heart. I confess, we haven’t tried this one yet, so stay tuned for an official review.
Mountain Dew Summer Sparkler Froster
If you’ve ever wanted a Mountain Dew Summer Freeze, but actually frozen, what you’ve been longing for is the Summer Sparkler Froster, which is available at Circle K. It’s not red, white, and blue—but according to Sporked’s crack team of soda taste testers, it definitely has that signature 4th of July flavor.
Mountain Dew Sweet Lightening Peaches & Cream Dirty Soda
If the Mormon Wives have taught us anything, it’s that dirty soda can be pretty damn good! This Mountain Dew Sweet Lightning Peaches & Cream Dirty Soda is currently only available at KFC. Personally, I either love or hate dirty sodas—no in-between, so I’m excited to find out where this lands for me.
