It takes a lot of guts to call your company Iconic Candy. If you’re gonna do that, your candy needs to actually be, y’know, iconic. Thankfully, Iconic Candy does have that working in its favor: This is the company that took over Sour Altoids in all but name, releasing a near-identical dupe known as Retro Sours that have kept fans of the old-school sweet (which include us, to be honest) happy.

Now, Iconic Candy is listening to its fans and boosting the presence of its Retro Sours with four new flavors. This is what it’s got in store for us all.
Passionfruit Retro Sours: A New World
Iconic Candy is bringing out four options that fans have apparently been clamoring for, and it’s doing it at one supermarket only: Target. “We’ve been hearing it nonstop—customers have been begging for more Retro Sours flavors at Target,” said Iconic Candy co-founder Kim Wiesen in a press release. “So we gave it to them. This expansion is directly driven by our fans and what they want to see on shelves.”
As for the flavors, they’re decidedly modern (well, as far as candy options go): Retro Sours buffs will soon be able to try them in Passionfruit, Watermelon, Mango, and Raspberry. We have to say that we love the range here, but unfortunately, they won’t be here for long: These new Retro Sours flavors will only be available for a five-week run. “We’re creating moments, not just products,” said Wiesen (by which we can only assume she means viral moments that will play out in TikTok for a good couple of days. “If you see them in-store, grab them—because once they’re gone, they’re gone.” You’ve been warned!
When Can I Try These New Flavors?
NOW! Right now. Customers have already started posting pictures of their haul from Target on places like Reddit, so they’re now well and truly on sale. Interestingly, some people managed to get their hands on them way before that: A review over on TikTok posted back at the end of February did a taste test of the new watermelon flavor, and confirmed that it’s as sour as its name suggests.
The good news is that while these new Retro Sours flavors are a limited-time deal, the regular Retro Sours seem to be going nowhere, and you can find them in other stores than Target. Cracker Barrel is one such seller, and while you’re there, you can also pick up other old-school sweets, like Lammes Candies Sherbet Mints, a nostalgic pastel treat that was perfect for Easter. And, honestly, for any other time of the year. They’re also available at Walmart, though, if Cracker Barrel’s a bit too far from you.
