Rockstar’s kicking off 2026 with a refresh. The drinks company currently has dozens of flavors for sale in its various varieties, and its Punched subline, which goes heavy on the fruit flavors, is one of its most popular. This year, Rockstar’s adding to it with its all-new Punched Blackberry, while also expanding the availability of two other fan-favorite flavors.
Here’s the twist, though: We’ve already tried Rockstar Punched Blackberry, and we’ve got the skinny on what to expect from it. Crack a can, sit back, and start reading.
What You Need to Know About Rockstar’s New Drink
Rockstar told us that its new Punched Blackberry flavor is a direct response to what customers have been clamoring for, and the expansion of its two other drinks (Punched Lime Freeze and Boom Piña Colada) is the same. “With Punched Blackberry, we’re bringing a rich, fruit-forward flavor to life, while expanding some of our most in-demand offerings so more consumers can experience the flavor packed energy kick they crave,” said Kyle Watson, Chief Brand Officer of Celsius Holdings, Inc., in a statement. The drink had actually released previously in Canada in very limited quantities back in 2023, and it looks as though it’s come full circle here.
Punched Blackberry will come in the standard size as all other Rockstar drinks, and like the others, it’ll have 160 milligrams of caffeine. It’s a full-sugar drink, although not as sweet as you might think (more on that in just a sec). As for now, Rockstar seems to be playing it safe with its release, and it’ll initially only be available in select West Coast states. Punched Lime Freeze, which we also tried, will be rolling out across the West, after initial success in central states, while Boom Piña Colada is expected to be available nationwide, pretty much imminently.
How Does It Taste?
In an early taste-test of Rockstar Punched Blackberry, it must be said that this drink surprised us a little. We were expecting it to have the same cloying sugariness as some of the brand’s other beverages, but there’s a nice balance of sweet and sour here that isn’t too overwhelming. Maybe the best thing about it is that it actually tastes like what you expect a blackberry to, which can’t be said of a lot of other fruit punch drinks out there.
Although Rockstar Punched Blackberry is due to be rolled out imminently, we’ve not yet seen it appearing on major retailers’ websites or in stores. We’d say it’s only a matter of days now, though, so start planning your shopping trip (and try out some of its other energy drinks while you wait).
