Are you a person who picks pickles over other snacks? Are you the person who picks pickles off picky peoples’ plates perchance? Ya like Baywatch? Believe it or not, if your answer was yes to all three of those questions then there may just be something pickle-y coming your way from our buddy Pam Anderson. What could it possibly be? Why Pamela’s Pickles, of course —allegedly coming our way soon.
Why is Pamela Anderson making pickles? Where can I get them? And again, why is Pam Anderson making pickles?
My theory as to why Pam has pivoted to pickle making is that she just likes to do things that start with p. She’s been in Playboy, Pauly Shore Is Dead, Pamela’s Cooking with Love, Pborat, Pbaywatch, and most recently, Pthe Plast Pshowgirl. See the pattern?
And her next P adventure is pickles because as she said in a recent interview, “I’m a pickler. I come from a long line of picklers. My Great Aunty Vi, she won all the pickle and mustard awards on Vancouver Island, so it’s a serious thing in my family.” So basically the Andersons are the biggest pickle nerds in the (Canadian) West and we love that for them. In that interview with This Morning host Alison Hammond (who you probably know from The Great British Bake Off), Pam talked a lot about pickles and how apparently everyone in her family has their own takes on the recipe – she likes to add rose petals to hers, which, I love ya Pam, but floral pickles sounds like something I would have to taste to believe.
But Pamela has a plant-based cooking show and is thus more of a professional chef than I am—plus, she has mentioned on multiple late-night shows across multiple networks that she loves to pickle and preserve things, so who knows? Maybe this combo will be great! And we might get to try them soon, because Anderson also said, “I’m going to sell pickles. […] You’ve got to do a little bit of everything these days.” It’s not clear where we’ll be able to get Pamela’s Pickles, but we’re crossing our pickle-loving fingers they won’t just be available in Canada.
Assuming Pam follows through (and we totally believe she will), we will have to keep our eyes peeled for a peck of Pamela’s Pickles popping up in the pickle aisle this year.
