Pillsbury Is Releasing All-New Cookie Doughs For The Holidays

Pillsbury has something truly spectacular in their hands with their collection of Shape Sugar Cookie doughs. Other than the nostalgic aspect of them, the concept is really pretty simple and not terribly complex for the company. It’s just colored sugar cookie dough, and yet, especially over the past couple of years on social media, the cookie doughs have really taken on a life of their own. They were always delicious and nostalgic, but now they are a pop culture necessity – especially at the holidays.

Luckily for us, as they continue to get more popular due to their social media prevalence, Pillsbury has only leaned more and more into giving the fans that they want. The Elf-themed Shape Sugar Cookies always sell out in the blink of an eye, and so do all of their fall seasonal varieties as well. I can’t remember the last time I went to the grocery store and the seasonal Shape Sugar Cookies were actually fully in stock. But, I don’t think any time of year has more of an iconic lineup than Christmas at Pillsbury. This year, of course, is no different.

Christmas And Cookies… What Could Be Better? 

This year, Pillsbury is adding not one but two new cookie doughs to their holiday collection. That said, only one of them is a Shape Sugar Cookie variety. For the 2026 Christmas season, we are getting an all-new shape in the form of a gingerbread man. And while we can always expect gingerbread flavored baked goods to pop up around this time of year, I can’t say we generally see the shape without any of that classic warming spices to go alongside it. But let’s not get greedy here. We’ll take what we can get from these new cookies. 

These gingerbread man-imprinted slab cookie doughs are made with the traditional circle (okay fine, it’s a square) of plain sugar cookie dough with a little gingerbread man in the center. Each gingerbread man is carrying a smile and three buttons on their chest. As always, this ready-to-bake sugar cookie dough comes with 20 cookies in a box.

Hot Cocoa Enters The Scene

In addition to this new shape of everyone’s favorite cookie dough, hot cocoa will be making an entrance into the flavor portfolio of Pillsbury cookie doughs this Christmas as well. This limited-edition flavor is made with a hot chocolate-flavored cookie dough that has chocolate chips and white morsels mixed throughout the dough.

These cookies are ready to bake just as the shaped sugar cookies are, but they are also ready to eat in case you simply can’t wait for them to pass through the oven. If it were us making these cookies we’d be popping a couple of mini marshmallows on top of the dough halfway through the baking process to give them a true hot cocoa feel to them.

If none of these new products are speaking to you, then rest assured that most of the fan-favorite holiday baking goods from Pillsbury will be returning from last year as well. The Christmas tree, Reindeer, Elf, Santa, Snowman, Grinch, and Turkey Shape Sugar Cookie designs will return to shelves again this year. If you’re lucky, they’re already in stock at a grocery store near you.
