Poppi Is Adding More Bubbles & Better Flavor To These Two Classics

New and healthier versions of sodas are constantly hitting the market. And one brand that’s been doing it well is poppi. The soda is more than just a soda. Poppi is a prebiotic soda that delivers that fizziness you crave with the prebiotics that support a healthy gut.

Poppi hasn’t been content to just stay in the typical soda lane either. They’re expanded to energy drinks and relaxing drinks and all sorts of fun flavors for consumers to try. Well, today isn’t about a new flavor that you just have to try. No, poppi has returned to the sodas that started the brand. 

What’s poppi Up To?

Poppi is retooling their formulas for the Classic Cola and Lemon Lime flavors to be more true to the OGs while still offering what poppi is best known for―lower sugar content and more health benefits. This comes after poppi made changes to their Root Beer formula due to public demand for a more flavorful beverage. Now I never had the original poppi Root Beer, but I had their redo and if the old one was weak, I totally get why people were demanding better. 

For the Cola and Lemon Lime, I can see a similar demand brewing. Poppi knows that they now have to compete with the big brands themselves and not just other health sodas. And going against a powerhouse like Coke and Pepsi? Well, poppi certainly has it’s work cut out for it (of course this is ignoring that poppi is, in fact, owned by Pepsico, but just because they’re under the same parent company doesn’t mean they’re also not still competitors). 

The early news of the reformulation of poppi’s drinks is positive and doesn’t just include flavor improvements but improvements to carbonation as well. And personally? When I crack open Sprite, or any Lemon Lime soda, I want that thing so fizzy that it feels like I’m drinking TV static. If you know you know. So a fizzier Lemon Lime is very interesting to me. I will definitely be trying that one. 

So When Is The Release?

Now there isn’t currently a release date for the new formulation. Just the news that the pair of drinks have been undergoing testing and tweaking. So for now, we may have to wait before we can actually try the new Cola and Lemon Lime. But given the brand’s recent announcement of a highly anticipated flavor, we have high hopes for an improvement to two classic flavors we already love.
