Are you experiencing cookout-burnout yet? We’ve just coined that phrase, but you know what? Kinda like it. We’re in the middle of July, and there are still plenty of grilling, smoking, and BBQ-ing days to come before the nights start truly drawing in – but this cooking style isn’t for the faint of heart, and some things take foreveeeeerr.

So, excuse us for leaping on news of where we can gain back a little convenience and speed in our lives wherever possible – and today, that’s been provided by Sam’s Club. The retailer has just added a new heat-and-eat dish to its lineup, and it’ll save you a good couple of hours. Let’s dig in.
Member’s Mark BBQ Smoked Pork Bowls
Taking BBQ flavors and putting them into evening meal form, Sam’s Club’s new Member’s Mark BBQ Smoked Pork Bowls are an easy choice for when you don’t have the energy, inclination, or patience to cook. Each bowl, according to its website, contains “real hardwood smoked pork with hickory BBQ sauce,” with the pork intended to be served on a bed of brown rice, quinoa, black beans, corn, and sweet potatoes. We say “intended” because while those come in the package, they’re separate from the pork itself – you add them after you heat the meat slightly – so if you wanted, you could take the pork and pop it into a sandwich. The options!
Each Member’s Mark BBQ Smoked Pork Bowl is a hefty affair: You get a whopping 45 grams of protein per serving. The inclusion of whole grains here is also a nice thing to see, and that Sam’s Club hasn’t just bulked this one out with white rice. Although that still probably would have been pretty delish, you know what we mean. Nutrition. We love it.
And Are They Any Good?
As these have just dropped in stores, we don’t have a huge amount of data just yet to judge them by – but the data we DO have points towards them being a winner. Over on the Sam’s Club website, there are two reviews so far, both of them giving the pork bowls five stars. “The flavor is delicious, smoky, and satisfying, and the pork tastes great with just the right amount of BBQ flavor,” says one of the reviews, before stating that they would buy it again. On Instagram (and specifically on the account @samsclubfoodreview, which posted about the bowls), things are slightly more muted, but still positive: One comment says that they need more BBQ flavor, but ultimately were pretty good.
So far, we’re tentatively excited. Get these bowls at Sam’s Club now.
